I thought you were in the same email chain as me with @SouthernGent? I might have got muddled though, I'm a bit sleep deprived
omg I am a huge idiot, yes I think you are! Is your first initial "E"? Just want to make sure i'm not giving out the wrong email since there were are few of us on the chain.

It felt like winning the lottery to get both a gorgeous emerald and stunning YAG cut by Gene...the color and faceting on these are to die for. But alas it seems like my personal passion is earth mined stones even if I will never own anything close to these in natural form. If anyone is interested, you can find my contact info on LT. I'll post these there later but I promised somewhere back on this thread to give a heads up if I decided to sell. I think the emerald was $350 and the YAG $300. The YAG stone is 4.76 ct, 9.248mm and I have to look up the emerald.

Hi. I haven't seen any lab yellow sapphires on this thread so I thought I'd post here too.
This is an 8.5 mm OEC in the #20 color.
It's hard to capture the color and brightness in pictures, but it's a beautiful stone. I bought it from Tiyanu. The stone was less than $40, so definitely not expensive. Sadly they didn't have the padpardscha 57 in stock. I'd like to see one of those in an asscher. My custom cut pink lab sapphire by Jeff White is done!! :D:D:D. I really love the delicate shade of pink.

Here is the picture he sent. It's a royal asscher cut, 8.6mm and 4.5 cts.

I can't wait to get it :)

Hello!
New to this forum but i was hoping you guys could give me some answers :)
I am looking to buy some lab princess cut royal blue sapphires. as far as i have seen from you guys Preciousgems and Jeff white do some really good and pretty cuts, however i was wondering if someone has a Chatham stone?

You can buy them on Africagems and they are a $305 for 1.22 carat. they arent precision cut i believe so i was wondering if it was worth it.

Chatham stones can be ordered my almost any jeweler, but, to me, they are pretty unimpressive looking in person.

This little mint synthetic sapphire arrived yesterday. I thought for a long time that I would never go for synthetics, but I’d been covering an exorbitantly expensive mint tourmaline for eons and then I saw this so I grabbed it instead. Very happy - and a new obsession has been born!

@bludiva, I'm having another stone cut which should be finished within the next day or so. I just wanted a handful of stones, cut just a little bit differently from one another, to choose from so I could select the one that I like the most. I have also decided to go with a simple Stuller setting #9834 and found a local jeweler that can get it and set it for me for as cheap as anywhere I could find in the United States. Here's what it looks like (click right to get to a video, which shows it best): https://www.stuller.com/products/9834/?groupId=193105
I hope to have a stone in his hands mid this week.
I intend to put up for sale the other stones that I didn't select.

ooh fun - are the other stones different colors or shapes? have to enjoy men's jewelry vicariously as my other half is a wedding ring only kind of guy

From the same piece of YAG - just different cuts, plus one for the wife and one for the daughter. Oh, and a synthetic blue spinel, that I decided was too small for my wants.

this is my silver created sapphire braclette
i possibly overpaid for it (its been dismounted since) and the other half was far from impressed with the bank statement but when i saw it i knew i had to have it
its one of only 2 lab grown pieces i knowingly own but i certainly got a whole lot of sapphire for my money !
20190507_164631.jpg they are actually a rather lovelly blue

Here's my final collection of paraiba-colored YAG.
One for me, one for the wife, and one for little girl. The top right one will be posted for sale soon if anyone is interested in it. It measures 9x7mm.

Here's a video under a dull, overcast sky.

So, what should I tell people when they ask me what stone is in my ring? If I tell them it's YAG, that is likely to require an explanation. Should I say garnet? Or yttrium garnet? Paraiba tourmaline? (LOL)

Bought this last night, 2.77ct 8.8mm precision cut flame fusion ruby via eBay vendor that I *think* is on the list of trusted vendors.

The vendor is beau-wy (1979) - I could not remember the name when I was writing my last post, and was too tired to look it up! :oops2:

That vendor was recommended for opals by PSer(s), and has real and synthetic CSs too.

Or this one with a rose gold bezel which is less ornate and more suited for work:

I met a gem cutter through another person and I thought I would give his details in case people are ever looking for someone. This isn’t the correct thread since I am getting an aquamarine and not a lab gemstone cut but I know it is hard to find precision gem cutters. He will also cut or precision recut moissanites so I thought I would mention his name over here too. Once I receive the stone and setting I will add a thread under rocky talk. I am just venturing over into gemstones/lab stones as I feel I need a little more color in my life. I am hoping that $170 for a 9mm aquamarine in the below shape including the rough was a good price?

His name is Jim Buday and his email is [email protected].
