I vote for the 2.14 because the only difference I can see in the video is the one on your middle finger is more yellow tinted. I couldn't make out any other distinction between them, not in light performance or size.

and the longer you stay on PS you may risk becoming one.

LOL, that's why I love @msop04. She tells it like it is. Can we get a username change please -- sizeho04?

I can almost guarantee you that, after countless hours of beating yourself up over this choice, you'll end up going with the one that caught your eye first. I'm 99% certain of it. ;-)

Totally agree with all your comments. Just my statistics professor on the first day saying 99% of all statistics are made up echoes in my head every time someone (including myself) spouts something similar out.

Not implying your point isn't true, etc. Far from it. Venting because that damn professor ruined me.

Hell, even in science most statistics are "made up" insofar as the actual truth is concerned. There's so many scientists that cherry-pick their data and manipulate the statistics until they get a significant p-value, that I take any claim of "significance" with a grain of salt. There's a lot of scientists that don't even know what a p-value actually is, or why scientists began setting significance as p<0.05.

I try to be conservative with statistics in my research, but in my personal life I make up statistics wildly and at will whenever I so please. Because what better way to prove a point than to arbitrarily pull a number out of your behind?

Maybe telling a blonde girlfriend that 80% of cars use red blinker fluid, but to make sure she confirms with the sales guy at the counter so she doesn't get the wrong type?

Or convincing the same girlfriend that you are 70% black but 100% white pigmented? Then getting 100% buy in from grandma to help you pull one over on her.

LOL, nope....no idea how to pull stuff out my hiney. FYI, there will be no hiney touching of the girlfriend after you pull tricks like that. :P2 :mrgreen2: :lol-2:

do you know the measurements of each diamond? If the difference is .2 mm or more, I'd go for the bigger one, since you can actually see the difference with the naked eye. If otherwise you can't tell much of a difference in color and clarity, I'd get the biggest (in mm) diamond I could afford ;-)

My mother always said, "When you can't decide between two, that means a third one is waiting for you that's just right."

'Course she was talking about boyfriends, but that's another story...

@Julyisjuly I'm emerging from lurkdom to just say "Thank you!" for posting your video! I showed it to my husband and he was IMPRESSED, to say the least. Thanks to it, I think he is STARTING to see why I need an ACA in my life. He actually looked at some stones with me last night! Baby steps...

P.S. I think they're both GORGEOUS!

I said this in the very early beginning...
If the dilemma between two is so struggling, this means none of both is good enough...
I would keep looking...

@Julyisjuly - I can post more pics with different angles if you’d like. As rockysalamander mentioned, you can ask them if they can make it into 6 prongs if that’s what you like.
Thank you, if you have a chance. That will be appreciated![/QUOTE]

Sorry for the late reply. I was hoping to get pics during daylight but I leave for work when it’s dark and get home when it’s dark. So these pics are under yellow lights in my bathroom. The finish is very smooth and refined but the pics make it look like the finish is a little rough but it’s in real life. Hope it still gives you an idea. The shank is not also that thick. The close up pic makes it look thicker. It’s 2mm which I had them thinned out from 2.5mm at its thickest point tapering to 1.5mm.

I like the one on the top of your finger in the sun and the one on your middle finger in the office. Are they the same one? I think both are gorgeous though! Can’t go wrong.

Omg - they are equally stunning!!!

I vote for whichever is bigger because I can’t think of any other way to choose between them.
For me the facet pattern was easier to see in the larger one.
But only in person, and only with the OP’s eye can the decision truly be made.
A camera has only one eye, seeing the stone biopically is key.

I’m a newbie so no expertise. All I can say is I love both of them and would be just as happy with either. I need to buy my ring and get off this site. I’m thinking upgrade before I even get my first ring :shhh:

Welcome to Pricescope! You have discovered the slippery slope we all fall down when we spend even a small amount of time on here... Best advice? Try and get the best possible version of what you want the first time around, and also try and use a vendor who has a great upgrade policy....

Great advice. That’s my goal. Going with WF due to their upgrade policy.

@Julyisjuly,

Might I make a suggestion? It may be something you've already done.

Could on one day you have one of them with you, and the next day you have the other? Or for half a day and half a day. You're comparing them to each other, but unless you keep both and have them as earrings (!!!), that's not how it's going to be.

Even better, you should be randomly given one, and then not spend any time trying to figure out which one it is, just experience it and see what you feel about each of them.

I also have to admit that I respectfully disagree with the people who say that if you're struggling this much with choosing, neither is the correct choice. I think if you had any two ACA diamonds you would struggle this much because they are subtly different. What are your choices? You go down even further in colour and up even further in size. Or you go down in size and up in colour. Colour doesn't seem to be an issue so long as you feel the stone has been appropriately graded. The light performance is the best that it gets. So fingers crossed you're able to choose between these two. And in the future you have the very generous upgrade policy too, so all is great.

As I've said before, best of luck, and I'm sure we'd all love to here your current opinion about everything.

Echo this. If you take and look at two more diamonds with similar properties, you will be back in the same situation. Although I was giving @TreeScientist a hard time earlier with the statistics thing, I honestly agree with him about trusting your initial gut reaction.

I've had to make countless difficult decisions in my life. Most the time with imperfect information. I haven't always gotten it right but the majority of the time when I follow that initial gut feeling, it all works out for the best.

Worst thing you can do is allow yourself to get caught in analysis paralysis. Time and options will run out and by hem-hawing you indirectly make a choice. Normally a bad one, at least in my experience.
