WOW!! Everyone got such lovely pieces!! And mad money is THE BEST for treasure hunting! :P2

I bought myself 2 items for Christmas. The first is a set of lovely 1940s 14k WG Buttercup drop earrings, est. 1.3 tcw. I saw and was tempted by a smaller set on JbG for 4x as much, so when I saw these, I JUMPED on them!

The second is a lovely little 18k WG F VS 1.33 tcw bangle for everyday use. It is SOOOO glittery!! I love having it. I picked up the 6 stone ring in this image about 8 months ago, it's also from the '40s, and I got it for a song. G/H VS 6 x .17 = 1.02. I love vintage pieces so much, I love their character.

It sounded like you intended it to sound..There are other things that I get for Christmas that I love that aren’t jewelry related. My best present this year was the card from my husband with the little plastic red hearts on the card. It’s a keeper!
No problem, I laughed!

My husband gave me 1/2 ctw diamond huggies from blue Nile and my daughter regift me the .28 ctw I got for her from loupetroop. Apparently she doesn't like studs of any kind. It took 25 photos to get a somewhat decent ear shot, and I realized I have weird crooked ears:shock:.

I'm sorry it's huge! How do you resize photos?
Nothing wrong at all with those ears! Is that a third piercing just sitting there waiting for your birthday? =)2

Also, good job training you DH to shop at Blue Nile!

My boyfriend of 5 years thinks that jewelry, gemstones, and diamonds are a waste of money and resources :eek2::cry2::(2:eek2: so I have been making my own purchases. However, when he asked me what I wanted for Christmas I sent two links to jewelry with no alternate ideas! He picked my favorite one and it has been on my secret wish list for over a year! Demantoid garnet ring from Yvonne Raley in rose gold! I love it!!! Sorry for the crummy photos. Been busy with work and not much time to do a decent photo shoot!

Thank you everyone for your lovely compliments!
@Hivona what a beautiful ring, I love the color, reminds me of spring, I really miss spring right now
@SandyinAnaheim that bracelet is lovely!
@prs I had to giggle when I read your comment about my husband lol. I've been married for 16 years and he's not close to trained! He asked me what I wanted and I sent a link to the earrings when they were 50% off. For my 40th birthday he gave me a large Swarovski golden dragon figurine. That's not so bad except he already bought me several other ones. All the zodiac and another dragon except the horse (which is my sign lol). I also have huge sets of jewelry from there that I rarely wear because it's not suitable for everyday. And I'm not a huge fan of Swarovski, I like their small, colorful figures, but spending thousands on crystals is wasteful to me. Although it was better than my 10 year anniversary present, which was a party size fruit arrangement, and he was out of the country and there was only me and our two babies:lol::lol::lol:. That 3rd ear hole is reserved for the lighthouse blue diamond studs that I may/will likely get in February. Since I tend not to switch out jewelry, I will have to pierce more holes if I buy more earrings:roll2:. I do have 8 on my left side:oops2:

Omg that is beautiful!!!
And our beaus must be twins slightly, weve been together the exact same amount of time EXCEPT, when I pulled that move and sent him only a couple options that were all super affordable he said, "But I want it to be a surprise" which is why I Increased the list to about 20 so Id really have no clue.....still stubborn and still no jewelry despite him asking me multiple times what I wanted and saying "Ahh I dont know what to get you."

Lol he just isnt into jewelry at all
But spends more than enough to purchase my little dream presents.
I think part of it is that he thinks they're useless but also part of it is that he knows I'm into jewelry and is scared that he'll get me something that isnt "up to par" with my standards even though Ive thought of this and explained that I love all different types of qualities in stones.
I have no clue at this point lol
Any tips are welcome and I'm keeping your delicious Demantoid ring in mind and hoping one day he just does it!!
I can dream right?!
Lol

Until then Mama's gonna keep on buying her own X-mas presents :wavey::dance:

I also got these rose cut and OEC diamond earrings off eBay. I might decide to have them made into dangles but for now I’m enjoying them as is. 21C67B36-5680-43D3-A34A-84D7DA810DD2.png 44BD263B-0A59-4E68-9FCE-724929E84733.png FEC87C12-6741-4158-91EF-F0195C7D88F2.png 6FAACE55-B432-4A83-A244-6CED6FC361E4.png

@Hivona your ring is so delicate and brilliant! I love it! Your BF, my husband @TheGarnetGirl DH all have the same mentality, and I'm certain there's millions more. I don't hold it against him, he just doesn't know any better. He prefers to gamble with his money, and I don't criticize. I like beautiful and everlasting things for my money, and he doesn't even notice that I have new stuff, as I spend my money and he spends his. He throws away his, and I collect sparklies. :P2

@kayla17 those earrings are gorgeous!! That's just the kind of vintage pieces I love! Good job.

Thanks! I actually saw them posted on IG and then happened upon them on eBay. They even came in a cool vintage blue box. I’ll have to take a picture.

They're gorgeous, they look very deco to me with their quasi-geometric shape. Do you happen to know what era they're from?

Like a few of you, I received an ultrasonic/Magnasonic machine. This is my first, and so far, I’m super pleased with the results!!!
I also finally received the Gemology Starter Kit I’ve wanted for the past 3 years!!

I would like to be able to loupe & examine diamonds under magnification, and create my own ASET/IS images. This is more of a hobby for me, and I love learning new things. This is of great interest to me.
This is the listing I found, and sent to DH:

This is the kit I received, from my bling-loving daughter. ;)2
I enjoy my trips to the jeweler, often, but this will allow me to enjoy my loose diamonds, at home. :mrgreen2:

Learning new things is my my biggest hobby! Thank you for the link. Which pieces did you end up getting? There appear to be a bunch of options. I have a good 10x loupe and have had difficulty finding a high quality 20 or 30x, but I'm intrigued by the "Dual Light LED Loupe with battery powered daylight illumination or near long wave UV illumination".

The kit consists of the general description.
He added the Dual Light Loupe & Stone Holder.

I’d love to have a diamond tester, and a steamer to steam clean my diamonds, after they come out of the Magnasonic...lol!!
The list keeps growing!!!

Congrats! I hope you like it. I'd like to read your review of the Dual Light Scope. I also have been hunting for a diamond tester, but haven't found a reliable one without spending hundreds buying a Presidium.

Unfortunately, I don’t. All I know is they are 18kt gold, Art Deco and french antique. There are no markings on the earrings, only on the backings which are the pousette (I think that’s what they are called) type that you have to squeeze. There is a hole that runs through each earring at the top, almost like they were dangles at some point. I’m actually going to look on eBay and Etsy to see if I can add dangle wires myself.
Here is where I found them on IG and the vintage box with the sellers info label.
