@Stone Hunter you didn't mention it here, but did you buy the Montana sapphire from this pic? It looks like the same one

No the stone in my Avatar is a Spessertite Garnet cut by Barry Bridgestock before he owned ACStones. I think that's the stone of mine you are asking about.

Its raining in the PNW, and my house is old and has horrible lighting. But I tried too capture the silk, the color is so pretty. I'm thinking a larger hallow of diamonds, black rhodium head, 18K rose gold band. Who knows, I've got so many projects, but not many are getting finished.

First on the list is a toi et moi ring with my Winza Ruby I purchased last summer, but we are getting ready to remodel, so that will be on hold until mid summer.

I’m so excited a PSer bought this. I had some serious jealousy going when I missed out on that one. It looks lovely! I’d love to see an outdoors pic, when you get a chance. :mrgreen2:

^ Yes! Lovely shade and depth of color and IMHO the silkiness only enhances the overall gorgeousness of this Spinel - score, Volvoqueen, can't wait to see how you end up setting it!

Same!! I was one second away from completing the order when I knew I shouldnt. I stopped and told myself I should buy what I really want, not just because something's pretty! I shouldn't have subscribed bc I know this is going to keep happening :-o

Lol for once I’m not tempted! Not sure why but I’ve never been that into princess cuts.

Did anyone end up buying one? I loved the pink sapphire but I'm trying to behave after Christmas.

Haha I’m in the same boat. This is kind of my new year resolution. I’m going to try really hard to focus more on setting the gems I have and only buy gems that I really love or can’t stop thinking about. Not just because it’s pretty. It has to wormie it’s way into my head & I can’t stop thinking of it! If I hesitate then maybe I only like it but don’t love it. But we all know how well New Years resolutions work out!

Yeah, There’s that extra 10lbs I’ve been talking about getting rid of for a couple years now (while I continue to eat my Little Debbie snacks).

Who wants to help me figure out side stone proportions? I picked up this emerald from Gene and I’m thinking a 3 stone with moissy sides is the way to go.
The emerald is 8.57mm and here’s a pic.

I like the proportions on this one but I don’t know how to interpret that into sizing.

I did a mock up of three sizes below.

So what do you guys think? I appreciate any and all help. :mrgreen2:

No clue about the proportions of the other Lm ring, but I like the 4.5 or 5
mm side stones, bc the 5.5mm take focus away from the center.

In case it helps, here's a 3 stone with proportions you might like.

http://www.diamondsbylauren.com/index.php/jewelry/380ct-yellow-vs2-cushion-gia-r5640

The center is 9*8, and TCW of the side stones is .76 rounds. So my guess is that the side stones are around 4.5mm, give or take. IMHO, if you like this style/proportion then I'd go with 4.5mm side stones, since your center Stone isnt too different than theirs, and cushions face up smaller than rounds for their weight.

Love three stone rings !! 4.5 mm is best because the other sizes may allow the moissanite stones to overpower the Center.

The octagonal shape of this makes it tricky to set with side stones - just because they won't be flush. Personally, I'd set it all by itself. It's so beautiful, I don't think it needs anything extra. Just my 2 cents. :)

I'm almost relieved when there isn't a stone that I want (or is out of my budget)...I'm scared for my wallet when I get his email updates.

That tanzanite though :kiss2:
