What? That’s crazy! I wouldn’t pay that unless there were some diamonds. Call me cheap! Oh well! I did a google search and saw a yellow gold Schubach band listed on PS a few years back for $350. It’s actually the one posted above. She said she paid $500.
I did find one other Etsy seller with bands I really liked. I’m going to find them and post here.

Also I did a close up of another band this Etsy seller makes that he calls the saddle scroll. It looks very similar to the engraving as the Schumach band above.

I've recently added engraving to a band with dk and it was slightly under 200$, fedex overnight included.

I had it engraved to match my rhr made by dk, I so I'm happy with the outcome.

However, I wanted to add that the first time around (for the rhr) I had asked for a very specific chunky wheat engraving with motifs on the shoulders (with multiple pictures) and they just did their iteration of wheat engraving. It was still balanced and nice, but not the same. I would specifically ask them that they confirm the exact pattern of the piece is all about the engraving.

Edited to add:
I found the one that was for sale and its pretty much exactly like mine. There were a few people who ordered them at the time from another forum. I think they were all in or around $500.

The yellow one I posted above I purchased directly from Schubachs for just over $450

That one is pretty close with the pattern of the engraving.

Here are the two bands I liked. I really like the first one a lot bc it’s 2mm. The other one is 2.5 mm

How funny -- I have both of those OroSpot bands favorited!! I love the scroll design on the second one... they are very reasonably priced as well. I'm still in shock about the Schubach ring... I really wanted it. Sad day.

Oops! I just noticed they aren't from OroSpot... Will need to favorite those too! I wonder if they source them from the same place? They look identical!

...this is my hesitation for custom.

I would totally be on board to pay $500-$550ish, but not $950. That's INSANE to me.

My local jeweler has a ton of dainty engraved bands... their engraving is nice (similar to DK's, from what I've seen posted here). Maybe I should go see what I like IRL, as far as width/height/pattern. They are pretty expensive, so I doubt I'd buy from them. *UGH!* Damn that Schubach ring... it's just so perfect. I'm stuck on it, knowing I can't/won't pay the price.

@msop04 my VC was over $1k a few years ago, so I’m sure it won’t come in under Schubach’s now.

I did want to ask, re. engraved bands... are you okay with the engraving wearing unevenly? Because it will (the steeper angles of the band are more protected than the outermost diameter surface) and when it does, it will be noticeable. (You can have it redone of course!) Pave masks daily wear much better than engraving.

I figured the VC would be more... but, I mean... it's VC, so... ;-)
That's a really good point about it not wearing evenly. I never even considered that, and I think it would make my OCD and anxiety go into overdrive. Nope, don't need that. :( Hmmm... maybe I should go in a different direction? Daaaannngggg! Why, oh why, can't I just choose something and be happy with it like a normal person??!! #pricescopeproblems

I feel confident that I want to stack this black rhodium whisper thin Zina band with it, so maybe I should consider other styles in YG to wear with it? It doesn't need to be much more than 2mm... of that, I am sure.

Zina band:

I've been wanting yellow gold for a while now, but for whatever reason, I'm finding it really difficult to find what I want. Maybe what I want doesn't exist?? #helpme

I just checked my band under magnification and it has not worn yet, though I am sure it will. I haven't taken it off since I got it. Its a good point though. I think it will add some character. My plain band bothered me when it got the first scratches but now it's a patina.

I feel like it needs to be more than a high polish gold band... scratches would bug me to death.

Out of curiosity, does anyone have an idea just how thin this style could be made without losing the aesthetic??

I bought a band on Etsy from DeAguiar Designs. It is very similiar to this ring and it is beautifully carved. Mine is 2mm in 18k white gold but they have yellow gold and offer wider ones. I highly recommend them and they’re not too expensive.

I think I remember seeing that ring from them... I'm wondering if engraving is gonna be good for me now that Yssie mentioned the uneven wear. First world problems, for sure. ;-)

I havent read through all the post, not sure if you settled with engraved? if not, could something like this? in satin Yellow 18k gold will really be a deep rich yellow: All Gold no diamond,.. or
upload_2018-11-29_17-8-13.png

or something like this but all metal (or is it too modern?).. I actually commissioned this setting from DK and now he's offered as one of his staple:

Those are really pretty... but just a little too modern for me. :)

I've worn my engraved/carved orange blossom engraved wedding band continuously for the last 2 years (not for the gym or gardening) and the only wear I can see is that the highest parts are brighter/more polished than the low lying parts. The whole lot is still as crisp as when I bought it. Roll forwards 10 years I fully expect it to be more worn but being realistic, unless this is your primary band, and you use your hands a lot, how much would it actually noticeably wear?

I love adding in some color. I wear a super thin rose gold Cartier band (less than 2mm wide) that I’ve had for many years between my engagement ring and eternity. My stone is on the warmer side, and I like how the pinkness of the gold complements it.

Really classy stack, @mrs jam! Would you say your RG band is about 1.8mm or less? Also, are all your bands the same height off the finger?

How about one of Caysie’s bands like the Sophia but with no diamonds. I like the engraving on her Sophia bands a lot.
Now that I think about it I probably would spend more on a band if it was something I knew I would wear all the time. Or it was my wedding band.
But I have way too many bands and I know it would not get as much use as it should.
I think I have something like 30 stackers/wedding bands (I have 10 Tiffany ones) and although I’ve just recently sold a few, I’m also planning on purchasing more. I’m waiting for one in the mail as we speak.

As far as wear. I got the Tiffany rose gold and platinum 2 mm band last year and I haven’t taken it off and it is in pretty bad shape (for me bc I’m pretty anal about my stuff). It’s got a bunch of scratches and feels rough. When I rub my fingernail across it I can feel deeper scratches and pits.
I think with an engraved band it won’t be as noticeable.

Also can you order one of the Etsy rings and do they have a return policy if you are unhappy.
Lastly. Have you thought about just emailing David the exact Schubach band you want and just asking him if he can make the same design.
His bench is pretty good. For all we know Teo might be working for him now?! ;-)

Thank you! I have other bands to wear with my solitaire, but the simplicity of this stack makes it my favorite way to wear it.

The RG band is probably a little less than 1.8mm. The channel-set eternity is 2mm, and its definitely thinner than it.

Yes, all three bands sit exactly the same height off the finger. I’m pretty OCD about that. The RG band, while very thin, is domed so its more substantial than it actually looks.

From GildedTimes on Etsy, this one is probably too thick but I really like it so will post it anyway..
I love this because it’s hearts and it’s nice and narrow.
From MSJewelers, the EH collection which I’m pretty sure some PSers have, this one is a pretty pattern with nice definition. They have some other patterns which are lovely but aren’t as crisp as I’d want in a new ring
