Those three are lovely! Black, reddish purple, and white; such polarizing colors that can represent so much! Sorry I'm a weirdo in that I love to create a ring or piece of jewelry based on a time in my life, a trip, or a certain emotion based so I always think about the meaning of my gemstones and their colors!

Im naturally drawn to black sapphires as well, there is just something about them. They remind me of shooting stars, mystery, black cats, and if they have a golden star they remind me of that little spark in all of us, that is almost childlike.

I'm excited for my stacking set! It wont be done for about a month but ill make sure to post some photos. Maybe it'll encourage you to start that metalsmithing class!

& @Bluegemz those two purple sapphires are gorgeous...they look like candy...soul candy!
‘Soul candy’ is SUCH a fabulous description! Omg, I’m never going to forget that!

Do you have any good sellers that you're willing to share where I can buy those parcels with multiple multi-color stars?
The clarity looked great on all of the parcels youve posted and now I'm wondering where youre finding them or how (;

I feel like I'm hogging up this thread so someone please rescue me lol
But no need to reply about the cat eye aquas! I figured out what to do with them after my boyfriend showed interest in one and asked me to make him a ring with it (: I decided to make a little couples set with them. His will be made with oxidized hammered silver as he wishes and mine will be matte.

Anyways, time for the reason I'm posting again...I finally purchased my very first star sapphire thats set in gold (other than my black star).
I found it on ebay, its over 6 cts and is approx. 8x10mm and I believe I got a great deal on it!
I will have it by mid week next week and will post some handshots!
It doesnt compare to many of the stars you ladies have but the price was un-ignorable and I'm happy with it!

I know, right? That bracelet is so amazing! The stars will do that when there are 2 light sources above them, which makes them even more magical.

I’m happy to share where I got the parcel...it might take a few to find the sellers name. However, I did see other similar parcels of small ones on the Instagram of another seller. I’ve also found a few small ones for my daughter in ebay. I’ll find out who I bought those from also. Here is a picture of the parcel of tiny ones which I bought.....

Ok here’s the seller of the parcel of little stars. I’m pretty sure he has another Etsy site also. He was open to negotiation. The ones I got are natural stars...not sure if heated or not. He may have other parcels not pictured.
https://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?sid=614mj&isRefine=true

Also, here is an upscale seller with similar parcels, but surely more expensive. Never purchased from them...,
https://www.instagram.com/the_grand_mantra_ploy/

Seems that the eBay seller whom I bought another 4 little stars from isn’t showing up. ( for my dayfhter’s Pendant.) You can also check with Yvonne Raley for sourcing little stars.

Oh thank you so much!
Yes, I was looking on ebay because in my mind I assumed
that's where you found them and could picture them there, but I got natha trying to find them.
I really appreciate it, and by the way your parcel is completely gorgeous! All of those pink ones are a dream!

& Oh how funny! I found some of his listings, but only the single larger blue stars when
I was looking myself.....I was so close haha

Thanks! I couldn’t resist the cuteness. They all have nice asterism, but it’s hard to capture that in each one in a picture because they kind of fall to different angles.
I would ask him about what else he’s got....maybe has can get a parcel of a few larger ones for example. The ones I have are super tinsy! Makes me wonder about the patience of cabbing such small stars lol! I have also found other sellers...I’ll look through my bookmarks.

Ohh I just noticed, is the package that they're on, is that one of those little tiny gem boxes? If so then they must be like 3mm each? or 2mm?
& you're too kind! I have no idea why I'm having such trouble finding little pink stars! I know I'll find some though, I have persistence on my side haha

While looking I came across this seller, his photos are awful, but he has some neat things.
I found this huge star rose quartz and thought of you! (:
It has a nice star and its a honker of a size, with a pretty dark color for rose quartz which I personally like.

This is the stuff of little girls' dreams...such bright, happy colors!
Thankyou! This was one of her inspiration drawings lol...And this is the final pendant, though the picture doesn’t show it off very well. She was very happy about it because she also loves stars so much!

For the little parcel, I imagined a pin with a few larger stars mixed in as pictured, ( the larger ones are not mine) or doing some thing like these earrings!

Thanks for the link! It is dark for most star rose quartz. I’ll start perusing around because I just love them and your ring is a real inspiration rose quartz!

The little stars are on one of those gem boxes, but a larger than normal one. I would say they are about 5mm in length. Still plenty tiny! It’s scary opening the box because they have gone flying out every time.

@Bluegemz isnt it cute?! I think itd be perfect for a little girl (:
Alas, its out of my price range at around 1,500 if I remember correctly.

So speaking of money while its not the most appropriate thing to talk about I would very much like some guidance when it comes to the stone below.

I found it when searching for a color changing star sapphire that's mainly violet.
I found this at 17.5ct and approx. 12x15mm.
Its untreated ans unheated and from Sri Lanka.
To me its so gorgeous and literally a dream stone.....I'm thinking of pullling the trigger but would like some reassurance.
What do you think would be a fair price for this stone? I know thats hard to pinpoint as gemstone prices are subjective...so let me rephrase..what would any of you be willing to pay for it?
Let me know if youd like the price of it, if itd help in determining your answer.
Thanks in advance!

It’s really pretty! I can’t tell much from the pics, such as about inclusions, color in daylight, how strong the star is, or if the legs extend further. A price would be helpful too. These things are subjective....if youre inspired by it, that is really important as a start!

I think I've figured out that I'm infatuated with lilac/light blue stars (:
I feel as though I found it at a great price, but again that can be subjective,
but it was $950, so about $50 a carat.

The man selling it claims that It should be priced more at 3,500 but
I'm not sure, and as nice as sellers can be, they are trying to sell something to you.

I'm happy with it if it has that small star with tiny legs as you see in the photo,
as the clarity and color for me....and mainly size are up my alley.
But, I don't think that that one photo shows
the full impact of the star because the lighting is exactly the same from the other
two photos and you can tell that he wasn't using one direct light source like
a flash light or a camera flash; the lighting in all three photos looks natural
so I won't be surprised if I get it and the star is more prominent.

So with me disclosing the price, do you think that it is worth it or that I got a deal?
Either way I'm truly in love with it and thankfully he has a great return policy.
It really does look like a fairy's stone, as you described my other smaller ring as.
They're both similar also but I think that the larger one has better clarity and is more
violet/lilac and the smaller 6ct is more of a baby blue violet.

I need to come up with a name for it, but I'll take suggestions (:

This is the listing for the stone:
"This is a natural cabochon star sapphire. I believe this is Sri Lankan material. The color is pastel violet changing to more blue depending upon lighting. There are natural inclusions, but nothing distracting to the eye. There is on darkish inclusion on the girdle. There are a couple of very small areas where inclusions crest the surface of the stone, but are difficult to see unless you are specifically looking for them. The pic was taken in diffuse natural light. Should you buy the stone and not like it, send it back for a full refund.
This is a very beautiful and proportionate stone."

& When I asked if he'd go down slightly in price, (not knowing if it was a steal or not) he explained that the stone should wholesale to another jeweler for $3500.

It sounds like you bought it! There is no replacement for seeing the stone in person and it’s great that he has such a good return policy in case it’s not what you hoped for. I love the delicate color and clarity. It’s very watery looking, which is beautiful!

That's a fair price. It's decently clean with good texture.

Unlikely to go for $3500 wholesale as it's not a strong star covering most of the surface nor is the colour what trade looks for. 50/ct is fair as it's a big size and well done!

Thanks for the replies!

I spoke to a prominent PS jeweler to see if she could source a similar stone , as I wanted to compare prices.
Hers were double the original price at apprx. 100 per carat.
So 3,500...no, but 1,900..yes.
So that alone I feel good about it.
Hopefully its even more beautiful in person. Fingers crossed!
I think I may have found out that I'm more into pastel colored stars...there's something soft and childlike about them.

The pastel stars are just wonderful! I love them too. It does sound like you got a good deal for the stone. If the star rays don’t extend to the edges, it is no loss in my personal opinion, as it has a wonderful, delicacy to it. The star and color work together so well. It reminds me of a floating star in the sky at dusk or dawn, or a falling snow flake! There is the trade ideal and there is what we love. It takes some inspiration/imagination to chose what qualities are right since each star is so unique!

Just adding this icy lavender star ring which I found online. I think the flow of the setting is quite lovely.

Yes! Lavender stars have my heart right now!
That ring Bluegemz, has a beautiful rich lavender, what a dream to own such a bright shade of purple!
Also my lilac star has gotten me into purple gems in general so I'm all about regular purple sapphires right now...Uh Oh.
Even my amethysts I'm seeing in a different light right now.
All shades of purple are such magical colors...and for me represent the divine unknown and intuition; especially spirituality.

Exactly! I love lavender as a color. I’ve collected lavender jade and a few amethysts, and one or two of my tiny stars are purple... but I’ve always wanted a larger lavender star ! I had one 8 carat pinkish purple one set for my daughter and I love it so much. Lavender is a highly enigmatic color, both restful and stimulating! For me the color feels of higher self, connection to more, becoming and rejoining.
