I saw this on eBay recently. The setting goes well with the stone...it has a supernova look to it, as I imagine it’s blindingly sparkly in the light, and the diamonds have a nice proportion to the stone. What an interesting star too. I can also imagine this star with orange and yellow, rose cut spess garnets, in different sizes around it.

Thank you so much for starting this thread, I loved going through every single page and seeing everyone's luscious stars (:
I have to admit, the mystery and magic that radiates from "moonlight jelly" has entranced me! What a yummy gemmy star!
I have three star sapphire rings myself. Two are made in sterling silver, one being a star ruby, and then I have a black star sapphire in yellow gold that's a vintage find.
I'll have to post when I switch phones, and my camera is working.

Welcome! It’s great to have another star lover. I’d love to see your star rings when you have a chance! Thanks for the compliment on Moonlight Jelly. :)

They do come in pad colors, but are extremely rare! That one is a beauty!

I checked out the Hong Kong company. Omg top notch stuff! The likes and sizes I don't see here.

That to me is an original classic pad colour too!

They have lovely stars! I was thinking that these would be great for creating some multicolored stackers.

I’m pretty obsessed with the star stacker idea. What a great way to display many, and one can build up slowly, one little star at a time.

I'm impressed with their 10 ct green star sapphire too. It's such a nice green, it looks like a star emerald

Did you find a website or just Instagram? I only found the latter...didn’t see the green star and would love to!

I think this shop caters to the rich tai tais and Chinese, as well as other top drawer gem collectors or stores. Probably those that would look right at home in Crazy Rich Asians.

A number of the very well heeled here in Asia fly to Hong Kong to shop for branded wares and gems. That's why it's the top regional hub for gems, wines, auctions, art, antiques etc.

I believe so. I know it would be out of my price range...but I’m curious what the range is for a green star.

I thought it is a Thai company. What is the name in Chinese? They have a 300ct + Golden colour diamond

I've not seen 1 before too. Maybe Ceylon or African? Very unusual!

Here is my modest contribution (: I've shared these in a different thread with a ton of my other rings, but enjoy!
-A star ruby, a very sentimental and special ring that represents motherhood to me. I purchased right after I had my daughter.
-A honker of a star sapphire, it is my largest ring if we're talking width wise. It looks like a dirty silvery plumb but I adore it, definitely an old soul as one of you ladies described all star sapphires. (:
- A very pregnant star rose quartz although the star is very difficult to capture on camera. I love the clarity of it!
- A black star sapphire set in 14k, it's vintage and was a gift for my 24th birthday. So, very special to me. The yellow gold goes wonderfully with my black star sapphire as its star matches the color.
- Also some unset star sapphires that I own. Most are blue but I have a star ruby in there and two star sapphires similar in appearance to my large one.

First off, I have to say that you have gorgeous hands! Second, I love that you wear large rings!!!
I can’t imagine a more beautiful birth gift than a star ruby. Wow! How appropriate is that?
The second sapphire IS an ‘old soul’ , a very anciebt crystal with so much history and patina. It’s just a miracle of nature. That is a true ‘grandmother’ crystal in all of its full glory. I personally love grandmother crystals because they have such soul and I think everyone should have one in thier collection.
And that rose quartz! I love the clarity too. Would love to have one like yours someday. The black one is totally gorgeous! And those loose ones...those seem like perfect candidates for s stacking set. What a fabulous collection! I hope you keep posting your stars because it is a treat to see them.

Did anyone see the 74+ct yellow star sapphire on AJ's Gems? They advertise it as museum quality.
Do you mean the yellow star? I’ve seen that one. I’ll check out thier site. A while ago, I think they had it listed as an old star from a collection. “Star of Jupiter” as I recall, but my memory is not what it used to be! Yellow stars are vary rare indeed.

Such an awe inspiring name for a gem. I had no idea it was so well-known. This entire thread has broadened my gem appreciation. I am becoming a fan of stars. I especially enjoy seeing the ones set in the vintage rings.

Awww thank you for all of the kind words!

2 interesting rings with stars, a Leon Merge ring with great color combination, and an ice jade and pink star ring.

I almost bought this! Actually won the auction too. But I wasn’t sure about the offset look so decided to pass it up. Otherwise it would have been my first star sapphire.

I would have hesitated too because the jade looks too puffy compared with the sapphire, though it’s an interesting idea that could be done well. I agree about the offset-ness of it, but mostly because the shapes of the stones would really need to be refined to work together in my opinion. In this example, It looks a bit like similar stones ‘thrown together’ in a prefabricated setting, with the important subtle relationships between forms missing from lack of attention to shape relationships. I believe that a ring with this idea would work best if it were custom made by a jeweler with a strong sense of sculpture.
