I got a reply from Anis who was lovely, offering to honour the initial quoted price for my next piece, which I replied to a few days ago. No reply yet though from them again hmm... will keep you updated on how this goes!

I hope you get a reply soon. Tokyo and the rest of Japan have been having a record heat wave this past week and sadly dozens of people have died so far. I hear the government is telling people to avoid outdoor activities but I don't know if this is impacting businesses or just schools.

Yep, no appointment needed though it's in a quiet, mostly residential neighborhood.

I think the closest I could capture it in photos would be this shot:


It's hard to see that it's two stacked diamonds because their girdles blend in and look like one.

@Crystal_Dreams and @JPie WOW thank you for introducing a new designer, I love Kataoka's aesthetic Do either of you know if they do custom with an outside stone? Was in Japan earlier this year and I wish I had heard of Kataoka before I went up! I was in Ginza for 30 hours for a stopover

They certainly do work with outside stones and custom orders. Where are you at? Kataoka is stocked in certain shops in the US as well if that helps.

I'm in New Zealand, so fat chance of coming across anyone retailing Kataoka in my neck of the woods But I'm glad they will do custom!

This sounds great, on my other thread I have some inspo and what I'm thinking of is not exactly the same as one of their current styles. Excited but a little nervous about the cost too.
