Thank you!

I love how it appears so much more delicate... It looks as though they really thinned down the prongs and shank, as well as adding the fine details on edges and engraving! I'll have to ask my jeweler if his bench can accomplish all that.

If not, I may just go ahead with a custom setting based on a Fleur de Lys design for the prongs... As I admire Erika Winters' work so much but it's way out of my ballpark at this point.

I'm looking at a home for my new (to me!) 10mm OEC ... uncerted but claim L VVS1.... The VVS1 I believe but color seems more M-N-O to Moi!

It's defintely in the warm body range and I wonder if I should go rose gold which I love or chance it with platinum ? I'm not sure which will show or hide the color more. I love a hint of warm colors but I did go pretty low to get this size stone!!! Lol

hm-m-m thought someone asked for a side view but I don't see that post now.
anyway, I took the photo of it. img_7230.jpg
The setting is a bit deceptive in photos - a lot of metal! The stone actually fills the basket and goes within 0.5mm of my finger, but in photos in kind of looks as though the diamond is sitting on top. In real life the setting is delicate and showcases the stone.

Here is a dark photo of the side of the Stuller Scroll setting with a round spess. Hopefully you can see enough of the setting's details.

Thanks Jimmianne, I am considering another Stuller setting, this time it's for an oval, and will post it to this thread once I get it.

1.33 ct heated blue cabochon sapphire from Madagascar. 6.8 x 5.7 x 3.5 mm. Purchased from Tan's Odyssey Gem eBay store.
Setting is 14k white gold, ordered through Joe Escobar Diamonds in Campbell, CA. The setting calls for a 5 x 7 oval cabochon. The four small diamonds are 2 pointers, at 1.7 mm each.

Here is my modified Stuller 3 stone emerald cut diamond and tsavorite RHR in 14kt white gold. The center basket is 8x6mm, and my jeweler ordered the setting to be modified so the side baskets are 6x4mm instead of the stock 5x3mm. I chose this Stuller setting over several others because the band tapers very nicely on the side where it meets the baskets.
The side stones are 6x4 calibrated emerald cut tsavs and the center a 1.52 I-VS2 diamond. Finger size 7.75.

This thread is a great idea. It really helps to see "real" versions of stuller settings.

I have my OEC pendant in a stuller setting. My jeweler butchered the prongs :roll

Wow...could those pics be any bigger???

I found this Stuller setting posted by @Kelli in Colored Stones. It's a Mali Garnet. Great side view!

Stonehunter I love that setting!

I think that's setting 7198. My jeweler told me it sets the stone up very high and isn't good for daily wear. I do LOVE the look though.

Here's another cool Stuller setting owned by @Bostonberry. I think it's also her PS Avatar. The item number is 71856. It is 14kt White Gold with a 10mm stone in size 6.5.

I like the Stuller settings because they are well made, easy to get a diamond set in a reasonable amount of time, thoughtful design, not expensive, and you know exactly what your ring will look like.

My engagement ring is also Stuller. I loved it when I picked it out 9 years ago, but wanted my wedding bands to fit flush. The jeweler we bought it from was supposed to make bands that would fit right up with the woven part, but a few weeks before our wedding told us it wasn’t going to happen. (After we were engaged, the jewelry store hired me as a SA, so our custom job was no longer a priority, apparently.) The other jeweler on staff was able to remove some metal & solder the bands for a flush look. The bands are also from Stuller if I remember correctly. Just basic 1/5ctw bands.

I’m looking into having my set unsoldered & resetting my stone in a new solitaire setting so I can wear it alone or with different bands. My local jewelry store is bringing in this mounting to look at in the next few weeks. I’m excited to see what it looks like in person! I haven’t found any “real life” pictures of it anywhere. I did reset my engagement ring, but decided against the setting I was originally considering. Instead, I went with 122089. Mine is 6x6mm square, it’s offered in several other shapes, too.
