Buying Moissanite from Tianyu Gems

No, it's still available. I haven't bought the stone from Tianyu yet but am waiting to see a video to make sure I want to try one. The cut looked good on the one I saw on IG.

People have been verry happy with the Tianyu stones so it will be great to see another cut if you decide to try one.

I have been watching this thread with interest. So much so that I have a video coming this week of an F/G asscher that is cut like a particular branded name well known in these parts on PS. I want it for my empty solitaire setting. I am thinking a 7.5x7.5mm. Hopefully it will be pretty enough. I hate an empty setting and I have not found one single colored stone I like. Though I don't really like colored stones in solitaires anyway.

Ooooh, is it their Octavia cut?? I’ve been waiting for someone to order one of those!

Though I don't really like colored stones in solitaires anyway.

Hey, Jess! Well, they sort of figured out what you meant, LOL! You can tell the color from those pics, but not the cut. I would pick a couple that meet your color requirement and then request individual pics of those stones that more accurately show the cut.

Frenchie has arrived! To say Tianyu exceeded my expectations would be an understatement! The French cuts are divine and they did an outstanding job on the setting - it’s a nice weight and very, very comfortable. The setting is 18k white gold/palladium and each French cut is 2mm square.

Here is the CAD and close up of one of the stations:


I’ve learned that French cuts are deceptively difficult for me to photograph, constantly reflecting light so it makes it hard to get a good shot of the cut because of the sparkle.

Stacked with my bezel diamond band and OEC solitaire:



With just the soli:


And why not try a stack with Sparkle Spice the ACC five stone while we’re at it, right??


So thrilled with this band! And now wishing I had more real estate underneath my knuckle so I could stack even more!

Asked them for a video before they sent it out, and they sent these.

I think they both look excellent! Definitely the studs aren't H&A cut, but I didn't ask for (or need) that for studs. All the stones look very white, and fairly well cut--even though not precision.

I purchased this from another company a little while back. The photos were taken next to an open window and it's sunny out today. I will admit I paid a pretty penny for it, but I do really like the stone and if Tianyu Gems turn out to be this kind of quality then it will be the last time I pay a lot of money for a Moissanite. This stone is 7mm, near colorless. So we shall see..... waiting to hear back from Emily and hopefully by the first of next week we can get an order going. (Y'all, please excuse my dry hands.....I'm working for my husband today and it seems the a/c just turns my skin into dust, but what can you do in south Mississippi in the summer? He got into his pickup truck the other evening and it was 126 degrees, according to the vehicle thermometer!)

I know everyone raves about the August Vintage Cushion and Rounds, and the cuts do seem beautiful, but they just don't look as antique to me (maybe it's the fact that they are *so* symmetrical). Curious what you think of your Fire & Brilliance cut?

I agree with you; they are *so* symmetrical and I think it's because they were/are cut using different methods. There's just that little something that's different between the two. I still do like the stone I bought from Fire and Brilliance a lot.

Those are so gorgeous and I cant see any yellow or off white tint to those stones at all!! Congratulations they are beautiful and looks like they did a wonderful job with them!

Just looking at those it appears that number 2 has less body color than the other ones. If you prefer warmer tinted stones you could go with one of the other ones. From those choices I have to agree with @mrsgreeneyes both 2 & 4 look the best but number 4 has more warm tint to it.. Good luck with your choice and I hope that you do get a video of the stones that you want to see up close!

I believe she will send a PayPal invoice, yes. I have always PayPal-ed the amount on the invoice to the PP address listed on the bottom left, I believe it is tianyu@tygems? And I include the invoice number and specific description of items in the notes section.

I tried to use my debit card with Alibaba to pay for my stone this morning and it wouldn't go through, so I just paid via PayPal, which I felt better about doing it like that anyway. So far, I responses from them have been very prompt. I can't wait to get that cushion cut and see it in person.
