025DF5C9-DCD1-40FF-86EC-84C53070B884.jpeg So, I’m carrying a timber planter box to my mums car and being the uncoordinated, accident looking for somewhere to happen type, I tripped over on the footpath.
I fell, face first, onto the concrete landing on the planter box. I just managed to turn my face so it was my temple and cheek bone that smashed into the concrete. I also hit my shoulder, hand and wrist.
My mother screams out, my husband comes rushing over and a guy driving past in car saw me fall so he stopped as well. Apparently it looked pretty bad.
First thing I check is my ring. Phew.
I have mild concussion but luckily I didn’t break my hand but I do have broken two ribs.
Thankfully I took my rings off while I still could.

Oh dear, besides everything else you mentioned, (hitting on face-shoulder-hand-wrist...ouch!) broken ribs are so painful. Glad you had help right there! Dust for quick healing!

How awful! I know how painful just a cracked rib is. Just breathing hurts. Your poor mangled hand! Here you are with all of these injuries and in good PS form you check to see that your ring didn’t sustain damage! I’m glad it didn’t and wishing you a very speedy and restful recovery.

Omg! I am glad you are ok! I remember the cracked rib I had . It hurt for well over a month. All the time. I hope your recovery is much faster and less painful.

As a true PSer the first thing I checked was my ring.

Oh my Gosh, hope you heal up soon! I think breaking those gems will hurt more than breaking those ribs, that’s a sign we’re PS-ers huh?

A trooper, and true PSer: “I just face planted, broke 2 ribs, hurt my face, my shoulder, and my wrist in the process....but wait! How’s my bling?!” lol!! I love it!!
Sending swift healing dust your way!! Those ribs will be sore for quite some time, even after they heal.
So glad you (and the ring) are alright!
Get lots of rest!!

Goodness, @Bron357 , I hope you are healing well, had no idea about your fall as I mostly hang out exclusively in the CS forums. Maybe the magic of your alexandrite bracelet is helping you heal faster? Don't know when exactly your birthday is, but you have my best wishes for your health and happiness!

Thank you Voce. I’m now “good to go” still a bit tender on the left side. Yes, my Alexandrite bracelet continues to enchant and enthrall me.
I don’t know why some people think jewellery is a waste of money, it gives me a nice feeling every time I look at it and the novelty never seems to wear off. I’ve been looking at and loving my engagement ring nearly 20 years now - no handbag, pair of shoes or bunch of flowers ever lasted that long!

@Bron357 glad that you're getting better, and you're SO right about jewellery; I used to be a handbag enthusiast and justified designer bag purchases by saying to myself and others they're classy styles that will last me a lifetime, but compared to gems they're just not worth it for me anymore!

You have to store handbags carefully to make sure they are in mint condition, and can only wear one at a time, and when you have a large collection it's a hassle to move. Jewels are more compact, you can wear a bunch together, easier to store, move, and if you're smart about buying top-quality they can appreciate in value much faster than handbags! Best of all, these pretty rocks last way longer than leather. I don't wear jewels as "bling" to show off material wealth, but as little works of art that I can carry around with me and look at any time of day, which I can't do with, say, paintings. That said, I also really enjoy music, but you can't really "own" music, unless you create it. ;)2

This is SO true! Jewellery for me is a pure joy - it’s got no other function beyond looking pretty. Handbags, shoes have functions other than their prettiness.
