Does anyone have or know of pics of the semi bezel with a colored stone? I've been fantasizing about a yellow gold with an 8mm cs. I'll never buy an RB that big but I think a CS with yellow gold would make an amazing RHR.

if you google images of scholdt semi bezel sapphire you'll see at least one. I think it would be amazing in YG myself!

Does anyone have an asscher in the the Fremont setting. I like the tapered band and claw setting but cannot find one anywhere.

If not an Asscher perhaps a radiant or princess cut? I don't want the semit bezel so am keen to see this as I like the streamline look.

Amazing Sholdt settings and stones everyone! When searching for diamonds, it was relatively easy to narrow down the suppliers. However, I was limited with the actual setting and did not do much research into various vendors, especially given my time constraint.

While I'm extremely happy with the way the setting came out, how does Sholdt compare? Is this more of a boutique name that is not recognized?

Also, not to go too far off topic, I've read that a 4 prong design is inherently weaker. Does this warrant real concern?

Your Minnie is just beautiful and showcases the diamond fabulously!

To answer your question, I don’t think 4-prong settings are necessarily ‘weaker’; rather, I think they may just be viewed as less secure in holding the diamond because if one prong is bent or broken, you’re more likely to lose the diamond whereas if there are 6 or 8 prongs, it’d take damaging more prongs to lose the stone, if that makes sense. I think it just comes down to personal preference, good design, and insurance - either way.

@elle_chris I've got a question about your Sholdt-- it's been 10 years, and is your diamond still in this setting? I'd love to hear your perspective on this setting after wearing it for years! Adding my ring- I was worried about combining an antique diamond with a modern setting, but I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out 2.65 K omc in the semibezel setting in brushed 18k yg
