Hi everyone!
So in love with all your beauties :love::love:

I love both Emerald Cut and Asscher Cut and baguette too :lickout:

Did anyone here have Asscher Cut with 3 pavilion, 4 pavilion and 5 pavilion? Is there any different ( more or less sparkle ) between 3, 4 and 5?

I think 5-pavilion is a Royal Asscher cut?

AIUI, increasing the number of facets by increasing the number of steps will just give smaller reflections (because the facets will have to be smaller to fit them all in).

I think the angles have far more of an effect on sparkle in asschers than the number of steps.

(I may be completely wrong... lol)

Hi, Thank you for your reply :))
Mostly I saw 4 pavilion on each online cert and 2-3 cert have 3 pavilion and only one ( mine ) so far I saw with 5 pavilion.
And since I only ever saw one asscher IRL ( which is mine ) so I never know what is the different ( if there is any different ) between 3, 4 and 5 pavilion.

About Royal Asscher Cut, I never see any cert of it so no idea about it. Only one thing I know is Asscher Cut have 58 facets and Royal Asscher Cut have 74 facets LOL
I tried to look online but didn’t find any answer about it. Would be nice to know.

Search for 'royal' or 'royal asscher' on here - I am sure this has been discussed before! :)

[ Awesome Thread!
I have spent my morning hours looking at everyone’s gorgeous rings.
My Asscher is only 1.03ct so is nothing compared to the ones here. But I figured I would still share anyway! It’s GIA cert D-SI1.

Gorgeous stone and set!

Ooh this is delicious! Do you have a thread on your new beauty? If not please start one because this gorgeous ring needs its own thread.

Here, size is not exactly what counts. I believe that the majority of PSers here will agree with me we all appreciate anything that’s beautiful sparkly and flashes like the top of the Chrysler building!! Your Asscher is beautiful and I agree that you need to start a thread just for that ring! You should also post it on show me the bling forum, under 1 to 2 carat rings.

My wife's is a Royal Asscher, 1.96. Prior to purchase, I was able to view the Royal vs an Asscher cut, side by side. The Royal has more glitter, looks as if it's wet. Absolutely stunning. I had seen nothing like it prior or since, that was back in '06.
I have an unintentional long thread about my purchase journey, where I compare and post pics.

missy and Matthews1127,
Thank you for your compliments.
No I don’t have a thread for my ring and I didn’t know if I can do that.
I will do as your suggested =)

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
What are the specs?
Um... that post is from almost 9 years ago...

You will have to see if DarlingEC posted a thread with details in it! (Although that username is not popping up when I '@' it, so they might have changed name since then.)

I certainly do hope so!! Spoke with my jeweler a few days ago, in general, just trying to talk about some things that I had questions about, and get answers. I’m getting really excited, so I will keep everyone posted throughout the process!!!

Recently had the luck & funds to purchase my first solitaire Asscher I picked it up in a estate sale via auction the info had the stone just over a 1.10ct measures at 6x6 and graded in house at G-H & VVS I was dubious about buying a stone without conventional grading but after inspecting the stone & seller I was more than happy to go ahead it's being resized at the moment but when it's in my hands I'll be sure to post plenty of pics! 2992936_1.jpg
