Ok. I loved the K and her total boss lady mighty .34 self.

But I had to see a bigger one. So given that I am tint sensitive (though I can't stress enough that the K faces up white) and that I love my bright white Es and Gs, I am trading her up for a .56 G eye clean SI 2. They are graciously allowing me to send my plat mount from my asscher and they will remake it in to a 6 prong low set solitare!

Again, I feel like this diamond was very reasonably priced and I felt very comfortable getting an SI2 because it is Crafted by Infinity.

This is more or less a temp setting. I plan to add two side stones and eventually make it into a 3 stone ring.

I'll update when it gets here!

What is really super cool is that the kit comes with a diamond grabber, a loupe, an ASET viewer (which I have been meaning to buy), a H&A viewer, cleaner and a temporary setting ring.

:?: Saw an IdealScope there? Does that come with the package as well?

Fun project I presume but the stones are gorgeous! You can never fully appreciate the cut of a super ideal stone until you've seen it with your own eyes. Enjoy your newest stone on the way - we'll be waiting for pictures!

That all came with the diamond! An ASET and a Hearts and Arrows viewer

I think I may have said this before, but they are putting a Stuller solstice 6 prong head on my plat shank and then thining the prongs and sharpening them.

This will be a temporary setting (a right hand solitare) until I wear it a while and decide what I want to do with it (lean toward a 3 stone ring).

It is so easy with HPD to trade in and up. I am finding that I am liking this ease over scouring Blue Nile and James Allen databases.

I am liking how SI2s are all eye clean and how everything is guaranteed by Crafted by Infinity.

Is there a "show me your HPD/CBI" thread on Rocky Talky? I searched and didn't see one.

I am going out of town on Friday, so I told Wink to send it Monday to receive on Tuesday.

ETA: I see I said most of that above lol, oh well... having a brain fog day today

Thanks. Makes me want to buy one too when the budget is there. :D

The easy thing is that you can buy small and keep trading up as you get extra play money! I will wear this .56 for a while to see if I want to make it the center of a 3 stone, or one of a pair of earrings or trade it up for bigger or whatever.

Their trade up policy is only that you have to spend more money. You can even trade one stone for two, or keep the same size but go up in clarity or whatever.

You know, I was thinking about this and at one point in my life, I had owned 17 baby strollers lol. Needs change as times change. I am really thinking this is worth the premium price (for the premium product) to be able to switch out stones if ever my wants or needs change. And then you can even scrap the mount, etc, so you can continually remake your settings as time changes your taste.

Their policy allows you to stay current.

Plus, they have an lifetime 80% buyback policy-- so no more selling to strangers on ebay or loupe troop if you for whatever reason need cash or want to thin or liquidate your collection.

I'm into this....

A slight delay.... I'm getting a new head as the solstice didn't fit well on my shank. I should have the new ring this week. :appl:

Can I borrow it from you, DF? That diamond is delicious.
I just fork out a lot of $$$ to help DD #2 with d/p on her house. However, I know you and WS are loaded :$$):, so when can I come by to pick up the $65K check?...

Another update: my ring was set yesterday, but for quality control it was rejected because the diamond was ever so slightly set angled. It was rejected and sent back to the bench. Melissa said this was something only OCD people would notice (that is us, am I right?!?) but that once I saw it, it would bother me.

So they were going to send it out today for tomorrow delivery, but since I live in the sticks, saturday FedEx delivery is iffy because sometimes the weekend drivers decide it is too hard to get to me so they don't try.

I asked for them to wait and send it Monday for Tuesday delivery. :appl:

I'm surprised at how the .56 size is very satisfying. I think sometimes we get skewed here on PS with 2.5 carats and up.... (which don't get me wrong are fabulous).... but there is something simple and appropriate with this perfect smaller diamond.

It stands on its own as something to behold.

I recommend you try a CBI:love::love:
