Hi!

I am contemplating getting an engraved gold band to add to my ER/WB bands. Only problem is that they would all be 3mm each, 9mm in total. Please give me a sanity check - am I crazy to add another band?

It doesnt feel all that bad on the hand.

Thank you for any input!

Pic below with a third gold band, but it is 2.5 mm.

The stack you've got there looks great so I think another 3mm instead of the 2.5 would look great! I can't go that wide without having major finger muffin-top so I'm envious! Also I love your asscher band - it's beautiful! Do you have any more pictures of it?

Your stack looks fabulous!

I also have almost 9mm with wedding band (3mm) full eternity (3mm) & solitaire (2.75mm) and for me in the heat, it's too much. It doesn't look too much as I have long fingers, but when my hands swell that extra band on the underside of the fleshier part of my fingers starts to cut in. If you can tolerate it though, I stay go for it!

Thank you Alex!
Are your rings comfort fit? Do you think that would make a difference?
Yes, that worries me a little, as well as being able to carry bags without "crushing" that part of my finger... :)

Sorry no help on the stack, I can barely pull off 6mm. I just had to say how much I love how those asschers are set with triangular shared prongs. So cool!

You have the finger real-estate to pull it off beautifully (like Foxinsox I am also jealous). You can always pull off a ring if your hands swell and it feels uncomfortable.

I love it I would put the diamond band in between the two gold bands

Thank you ringo!! I like it too, I think it makes the clipped corners of the asschers more marked.

Thank you Niel! Yes, or maybe the engraved band in between..? It is nice to have a new band to be able to change things up a bit.

acaw2015! I remember you and your rings! I remember I LOVED them when you got them, and loved that you had the circumferences lining up so they looked like a set! And I've used your photos a bunch of times as an example of great prong work on asschers or any corner cut stones. Lovely!

I think you can handle another 3mm ring easily. I'd get your plain 3mm ring re-polished, tho, so the stack looks like new; there's nothing like a new ring to make an old ring look old. But that aside - you've got the fingers for it, girl - have at it! You have lovely taste. :)

My stacks are usually between 8-10mm depending on which rings I grab on any particular day (my engagement ring is nearly 4mm wide, matching wedding band 3mm, then I have some 3mm and 2mm bands I mix in the middle), so I think it looks great! I find wider stacks a lot more comfortable than smaller ones.

acaw2015, thank you so much for those closeups - those triangular prongs are just fantastic  an engraved band would be a brilliant addition to the mix.

I agree, the gold band really needs some polishing. :-o:)) The photos shows that..! Funny how you get so used to things that you stop noticing....

From the photo, you can definitely add a third ring and it look great.

I'm also with the others above who love your asscher band! Would you mind sharing your ring size and the ctw that your 3mm width gives you? It's such a beautiful sized band so I'd love to know for future reference.

Thank you lissyflo! :)
Of course!

The asscher band is a size 6 if I remember correctly. I lost a lot of weight after getting it and my hands are now (in the picture) closer to a size 4! The ring is very loose, but for some reason it never (!) spinns. I always wear the gold band next to it, it has been sized down to my current size and keeps the asscher band from falling off.

The asscher band is almost half eternity, one more stone and it would be half. It has nine 0.11 ct g vs asschers, totalling ca 0.99 ct. To the eye the asschers are a full 3 mm like the width of the band, or maybe a hair less.

I would absolutely recommend this style for an asscher band. The band was custom made by a local jeweler using a to me unknown bench so I can unfortunately not say who made it. The jeweler had never worked with asschers before...

Yes, that worries me a little, as well as being able to carry bags without "crushing" that part of my finger... :)

My wedding band & eternity band are fully comfort fit & very rounded inside. My solitaire is not & has sharp inner edges. If I stack all 3, the solitaire has to go in the middle as I have found this to be the only way to comfortably wear them lately. I am persevering with all 3 worn like this, but it's not as pleasing to my eye as the pear going on last. So in a waffled answer to your question, yes, comfort fit makes a big difference!

Thank you for you reply! That is really good to know. I will make sure to have the new band comfort fit too. My two bands as well as my solitaire are comfort fit and I imagined that it would make some difference but not how much...!
