I have heard a number of cases or horror stories fr. customers who bought from certain stores where they have fake certificate.

How do I make sure GIA certificate is real?

The best way is to get an independent appraiser (not one suggested but the vendor) to verify that the diamond matches the certificate as part of an appraisal of it.

mbn, I have seen people buy diamonds later to find the diamonds were clarity enhanced! These people were not told, no disclosure. Scarry!

The "new" GIA report which started in the year 2000 does security features.

You still need someone to verify that the diamond matches the report.

We check out the matching of diamonds to their certificates, and check to see if we agree with their grading results.

In addition we also run a battery of additional measurements and testing to report the important characteristics that are missing from lab reports.
