I just recently inherited my mother's engagement ring and wedding band. My father said that it is a .75 karat blue white diamond?? Any idea on what the price value would be?? It looks to be in excellent condition, my mom never wore it only on special occasions. They were engaged in 1946. Thanks for any help.

Hi,

You can click on this link to the tutorial here to learn a bit about what blue-white means:
http://www.pricescope.com/tutor_fluor.asp

You may want to take a ride to Philly (or at least contact Dave Atlas for information) to get an appraisal of your ring, which you would want for insurance purposes anyway. He is an expert on older and modern cut diamonds. His website is www.gemappraisers.com and he posts here under the name oldminer.

You can click on this link at pricescope to read an article he wrote and see his picture!

Hope this helps,
