Black diamonds became popular just recently. As I understood they are used to create a strong contrast when combined with white or color stones. I didn't find much info yet. Yes, there really are black diamonds. They are very heavily included, and they are used more for a accent stones than as a major gem stone. Don't get me wrong, you can buy these in larger sizes, but most are fairly small. They sort of look like a piece on hematite. Hematite is a opaque mineral that exhibits dark gray to black color with a metallic luster (not always). ------------------ |
