You girls will understand (maybe some of you guys too!) but I went on my lunch break to my favorite jeweler and tried on a 2.06 asscher in a plain daniel K solitaire setting and I was in heaven!! It made my 1.2 look SO small. I'm going to upgrade soon but now I just can't stop thinking about it! Ha! I need help!!

I couldn't believe how much bigger it was - it's meant to be. I want it now! ha!

I forgot to mention that the jeweler said he would trade up on my current stone even though I didn't get it from him Just have to get him all the GIA paperwork. I'm so excited! I'm obsessed

Oh I can totally understand. I went e-ring shopping with my FF for the first time last weekend and I thought he wouldn't be able to afford a stone larger than .75 carats, so that's what I was trying on. But then he found a ring that he liked and asked me to try it on, and I fell in love with it. It was 1.5 carats and it just seemed like the perfect size. Of course he didn't like the price tag but it was his idea When I compared it to the .75 rings it just couldn't compare. I'm not even engaged yet and I can't stop thinking about that ring and looking down at my finger imagining it there. I'm on a slippery slope, lol.

When do you think you'll be upgrading?

Ohhhh Halo, I hope you get your 1.5! so exciting! it's so dangerous right? but so fun too. I think I'm going to get the paper work to him next week so we'll go from there. eek! there is also a part of me that wants to be done with it so I can stop obsessing about it ya know? Maybe I'll move my obsession to new earrings

It definitely is dangerous, but that would never stop any of us PSers, hehe I know what you mean, since we got back from looking at rings last Sunday, I've spent all of my free time on PS looking at rings. It will take 3-4 years for my FF to save for the ring and yet I'm still totally obsessed!

You have to post your new stone when you get it!

Reality check 1.2 is a huge rock . 2 carat is bigger but 1.2 carat is still a big one in my eyes. Well I guess we all get DSS at some point.

thanks for the reminder... I live in Los Angeles... it's definitely small for out here. It's funny how geography plays into ring size.

thanks so much. we'll see if my trade in plus our new budget get me a stone I love. I hope it happens. I'm going to wait for the perfect one this time. the first time around I just wanted the ring so quickly and it was before I found this site so... I've learned so much.

I hope you get your upgrade in the near future

That is so true, geography does play a role in diamond size. I bet you see some huge rocks in LA. I think a 2ct. asscher will be stunning.

I can so understand being that excited. I am waiting for my ring to be completed. Doesn't it feel like being a little kid and waiting Christmas day. Do you feel so excited you are almost giddy when you think about it?

I try not to talk about it 24/7, but getting my ring is on my mind constantly. I am always logging on to PS whenever I have a spare minute.

Miss Fortune I completely understand what you are going through, I went through it last year, I wanted to trade up a 5/8ct sol. that I had and I tried on a 1ct sol. and yes it was much bigger then at the same time the saleswoman showed me a 1.52 ct and I had all three on my finger, and guess what I walked out of there with the 1.52ct. Cause the 5/8 to the 1ct was a big difference and then the 1ct was also a big difference to the 1.52 and I know that if I would have walked out of there with the 1ct know that the 1.52 was bigger I would have hated myself for not giving into what I really wanted and now almost two years later I am very very happy and have not thought of trading up.  So I say GO FOR IT!!!!!!!

You would NOT BELIEVE the size of some of the rings out here especially when I have a lunch in Beverly Hills. It verges on ridiculous actually. I do think that there is a point where a ring just becomes obnoxious. Did I just say that?!?! Ha! I would much rather have a gorgeous, well cut 2 ct than a sub par, super flawed 5 ct any day!

It does feel like christmas! can't wait to see your ring!!
