Looking for some confirmation on buying a stone online from www.goodoldgold.com. People seem informed and nice, but as a purchaser online, of course, I have general reservations, simply due to the fact that they are in NYC and I'm not. Any comments on this listing from any experts? How is David Atlas as an appraiser vs. going with one another one listed on good old gold? Following are the specs on the stone: Carat Weight: 1.346 Clarity: SI1 Color: E Shape: Round brilliant Cut External Polish: AGS ~ Ideal Symmetry: AGS ~ Ideal Proportions: AGS ~ Ideal Cut Internal Light Return ~ Excellent Isee2 ~ 9.7 Price ~ $ 8,635. Value assessment?

Knowing both of them I don't think you have anything to worry about. I have had a good relationship with Jonathan for some time and I have dealt with Dave a few times too. Never a problem with the dealer to dealer stuff, so I feel good about telling you to move ahead.

Run the search through pricescope... Lots of happy customers through GOG they are well respected here and elsewhere.\ One thing I did just before I plunked down the Credit Card; Make about 5 phone (Actually talk to 98.6'ers) calls; Superbcerts, Whiteflash, Abisas, and whoever else you have been in contact with. Tell them you are buying very soon, like tomorrow, these are your required spec's and you want them to email you info (Sarin runs are required on any stone you would buy) on their "Best" stone at or around your requirements at their "Best" price. You only want info on ONE stone from each. This will ensure that you have covered all bases. Just advice.... Battle the Obfuscation |

i have purchased my stone through GOG and had it sent to Chris ad D Atlas..and i can say that both have super customer service. They were there every step of the way to make sure my online experience went smoothly...i too had reservations of making such a large purchase over the internet..but they quickly put my mind at ease. i would definitely recommend them to anyone. good luck!![]() ![]()
