i promise not to bite anyone's heads off this time, girl scout's honor! just tell me does this look better than the other one i made? the colors are the right one this time and im thinking of putting pinecones in the hurricane vases with tea lights around it or else candles in the hurricane vase and then using the scrabble stuff to spell out things like "smurfy and mr. smurfy" or "love and hope" etc. in triangles around the vases. ok that's all, im done for today :) it's been another rough one (apparently one of my sisters is in the middle of a divorce and didnt bother to tell anyone until today, they've been together for 20 years and have 3 teens!) ok im done.

ooh i like those vases....but if you put them in a low bowl (or maybe on a charger plate?) and had the pinecones surround the outside of it (in the bowl/on the charger, whateves), and put a candle in the vase? that way you'll actually be able to see the pinecones and it will have a bit more presence ?

It doesn't look like you changed very much but I do really like the bouquet you posted. Very pretty! I hope you don't hate me or get offended... but you have left out alot of important elements in this last collage like the bridesmaid dresses, bridesmaids bouquets, and accessories... so I found some things that I think will help bring things together even more and added them to your own collage. I found this cake that looked almost exactly like yours and is green but has a more elegant touch. Also, the centerpiece at the bottom incorporates bamboo in the vase so I thought you might like that. And I think the bridesmaids I posted are about the same color yours are. Hope you *somewhat* like the additional ideas. ![]() ETA: hmmm... let me try to make it larger. ![]()

I love your inspiration board! I also love the updated one that oobiecoo created. I really like the direction that you're going with your wedding! You are putting so much thought into it and I know that on the big day it will be fab! * March 14, 2009 * |

That cake, IMO, is a BIG improvement--it's still the colors Smurfy wanted, but without the worry of everyone having green teeth! I also like the idea of centerpieces using bamboo to line the container but with a more traditional floral arrangement up top. Smurfy, you're getting there, and things are starting to look more cohesive. Just be patient--if you get frustrated every time something isn't coming together perfectly, I promise you that you will have ripped all your beautiful hair out by the time your wedding rolls around! The real reason brides have such a glow is RELIEF that the planning is OVER!!

And also, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the scrabble cuff links! That could be your wedding present to him, Smurfy. You could have them done in wood like Oobiecoo's board above for a more "scrabbly" look or have them made in sterling silver or gold for a more "traditional" look. Oobiecoo, I am not even egaged yet, but I hope you and Italiahaircolor give me some pointers when I finally get engaged, because I won't have a whole year to plan my wedding! hee! ~~~~~I know I'm yours, without fear or hesitation and without a doubt in my soul, I know I belong to you, I always have, I always will~~~~~ |

It is starting to look more put together, I would also take some of the ideas off of oobiecoo's board, I love what she did with the cake and the center pieces. Best of luck to you smurfy.

I'm not sure if I'll be of any help, but I'm having a green/ivory with accents of gold/brown wedding, to be located in Iowa, and at a lower budget than most other weddings I see on here (no offense meant! All wedding I have seen here have been wonderful, we just have a smaller budget) Here's our inspiration page if you want to check it out. it doesn't have EVERYTHING, but it may give you some ideas! http://millerelliswedding.googlepages.com/inspirationphotos

I will never ever get behind a dark colored cake unless the color is from dark chocolate. Period. I'm really impressed with the cake Oobiecoo found. Looks like their inspiration was the same cake that you had found, but they made it more elegant. _______________________________ "Women are either goddesses or doormats." ok, Smurfy, I am blowing off work because your scrabble stuff seems funner. I found these that I thought you might incorporate. I thought the Scrabble Save the Date cards were cute and little funner before you send out your more formal invitations out. And I know you already selected a cake, but I thought this grooms cake looked yummy too! ![]() ~~~~~I know I'm yours, without fear or hesitation and without a doubt in my soul, I know I belong to you, I always have, I always will~~~~~ |

since your wedding has a traditional feel, have you thought about having a traditional cake, and having a grooms cake? That could be your fun scrabble cake.

I'm glad you guys like my ideas for smurfy... I'm not sure how to cut things out other than in squares or rectangles so thats why there's orange peeking through everywhere where I pasted over it. I don't know if you can tell from the cake, but its an irridescent green and they actual said that smurfy's exact cake(on the baker's website) was the inspiration so hopefully she likes it. I hope she comes back and likes it! Oh Smurfyyyyyy.... where are you?

Ok I'm here sorry I've been busy job hunting (ok not really, more like sitting around barnes and noble lol) The reason I don't have the bridesmaid dresses up is because I'm letting them pick their own. But they will all be tealength and the dark green color I have on there. I like that cake a lot but I'm really quite ok with the one we have because the only teeth it will stain is ours when we eat it after the reception up in our room (yeah we're not waiting a year, we heard it tastes bad and we want to eat it when it tastes good). Only the top will be real and the rest will be covered in the fondant. We'll be serving a sheet cake to guests that can be any color we want. Also when we feed the cake to each other we'll use the sheet cake I think but we'll have the traditional cutting into the cake photo (even though it won't actually be cake we are cutting into). I don't know, does that make sense to you guys? Lol part of the reason is so we can have the cake we love but also save a bit on the side. I think I'm starting to agree indecisive. I spent a LOT of time--too much--working on that cake, turning it white, and got nothing back for my efforts. As for the advice I gave about the cake, it was just thrown by the wayside. I noticed a comment that was made on the original thread that was never even addressed, and I thought it was a good point to be made--to be careful with the greens because it could easily look like a Saint Patty's day theme. I'm sorry to say this Smurfy, because I think you can be a nice person, but I think you've been really ungrateful. And I think you blew the comments on the last thread out of proportion. Lots of people have tried to help you out, given tons of great suggestions- and because you didn't agree, you ignored or berated them for giving their opinions. I am one of those people, and I don't appreciate wasting my time reading threads, addressing the things I see, even photoshopping images and then getting nothing back, or getting yelled at for it. And it's already too late to say thank you--too little, too late--I am not sure why you bothered in your last post. I think you've turned a lot of people off from trying to help you. I'm not sure that I will again. And this post isn't meant to pick on you, before I get berated again, but to let you know how I feel after genuinely trying to help you out and make your wedding as great as it could be. _______________________________ "Women are either goddesses or doormats."
