I can't believe I actually did it, but I did!  I went to the Kleinfeld sample sale, but I ended up buying a dress that wasn't on sale (big surprise)...

anyway, I hope you ladies approve, because I already put the deposit down!

btw--I will be finding a pretty, sparkly brooch to wear on the bow (they gave me an example), and I will be losing, hopefully, at least 10 lbs.--and obviously toning up my arms big time!  I have over a year to do it (actually, I might start another thread about my date/venue), so I think it's possible.

I just wanted to share my excitement!

Congrats Alli _esq!  It's gorgeous and looks fabulous on you!
I love POB's Vineyard Collection.  My bm dresses are from The Vineyard Collection as well ... I'm a little biased.

Thanks for sharing your excitement!!!!  Fantastic choice!

Absolutely beautiful dress, and it looks great on your slim figure. I think you made an excellent choice--and no need to lose ten pounds! You are so thin already.

oh, kittybean--you're too sweet!

slim, haha!  first time anyone'e ever said that, truly...I think that bridal-wear can really be some of the most flattering clothing (especially the big poofy gowns that hide your hind quarters, hahahaha)

You are welcome!  You should be excited.  It's fabulous!  Umm ... you DO have a slim figure by the way ...

Sure ... I would love to share with you ... It is style # 1302 in Peridot color.  Our wedding colors are Pistachio & Gold so this "peridot" color is perfect b/c it is not actually a true peridot color but bang on for a pistachio green color ... I love it!!

Here's a pic.  Likey??

oh, ladies, you've really made my day!  you have no idea!  I've been feeling a little down on myself lately, since I put on a few pounds the past few weeks, but it really helped to pick out this dress....

I was literally shaking when I said I was going to buy it--it makes it all so REAL! hehehe...but I really am SO excited

thank you so much for the tip, blonde bunny   I will try and check that out....

I'm glad you all agree on the brooch...I love sparkles, and I was going to go with a more elaborate dress, but I think just the one little brooch will satisfy my bling need  plus, the dress is so simple that I can wear a necklace and maybe my mom's fabulous diamond bangle...there are lots of options, which I like...and I think this dress is much more "me" than others I've tried on, so I feel super good in it.

Thank you all again--you are lovely!!!

Have you selected yours yet?

no, so far from any of that!

I'm going to need serious input from you ladies...
so far, all I know is that my 5 girls are all different shapes and sizes, and most of them would rather not have a strapless dress...I am not opposed to having different  dresses for them, but I want them to coordinate, obviously...

it all seems so complicated!  I'm such a bad bride! haha...

I had a very stressful day yesterday--as I have mentioned a couple of times on this site before, I took the NY and NJ bar exams in July, and I found out yesterday that the NJ bar exam results had been posted.  Basically, to make a long story short, my result had to be held because my good-for-nothing law school didn't send in the law school certificate required for me to get my score.  Sooooo, I was sort of freaking out yesterday, and I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to respond to everyone individually--let me do that now  (btw, I still don't have the results--probably will have to wait until the end of the week, and since I've already been waiting since the end of July, I'm sure you can understand how freaked out I am...if any of you could send me some magical, wonderous PS dust, it would be GREEEATLY appreciated...end of my own thread jack, haha...):

Morgie44:  I am so glad you like it!

Thomperchik:  Thank you so much!  I tried on so many dresses that I thought were absolutely gorgeous, but I really think this one was the most flattering on me...and really, isn't that what it's all about?  I should look like the best version of ME, right?

Sparkalicious: As I said before, your bridesmaid dresses are absolutely beautiful.  Your girls are going to feel like princesses (at least, I would!)

Kittybean:  you have such awesome taste--so your approval is extra-appreciated   And thanks for the ego boost--lord knows I could use it, hehehe...

fieryred33143:  Thaaaaank you!

blondebunny:  thanks again for the tip, and thank you for the compliment!

bee*:  you know, I was thinking your gorgeous wedding shoes might go perfectly   hehehehe...who am I kidding, your wedding shoes would go perfectly with anything!!

kama_s: I'm glad you agree with the brooch!  Thanks!

FrekeChild:  you know I'm going to need help picking out shoes...but I do have over a year, so I guess I should hold my horses with that one, right?   thank you so much for the compliment!!

sunnyd:  I'm so glad you think so!!

DMBFiredancer:  you have no idea how sweet that is to read...thank you sooooo much!!!

Keepingthefaith21: thank you!!

sctsbride09:  I really do feel good in it, and that's what matters, right?  Yay, thank you!!!

HollyS:  you are too sweet ::blushes::

LauraBabe08:  thank you!!!

Deelight:  awwww, you're so nice!  thank you so much!

You ladies sure do know how to make a girl feel good!  Thank you all again!

hahaha!  I actually couldn't fit into most of the samples I tried on...but really, they had pretty slim pickins by the time I got there, anyway, and the dresses I loved were not part of their sample sale (there was one that was part of the Anne Barge trunk show, and a Jim Hjelm that wasn't on sale at all)...

What the SA told me (and I agree) is that you're not really saving money buying a sample.  You still have to pay for cleaning and often repairs, which can make up the difference of what you would save.  She told me that samples really are good for people who are getting married very soon and don't have time to order the dress--I'm not getting married for another year+, so I was really in no rush.  She did give me a slight discount because it was the day of the sample sale, but I am ordering a new dress.

A good friend of mine did go to their sample sale and found a $9,000 dress for about $4,500 (still considerably more than my budget, of course)--but hers was a cancellation, meaning that the girl who ordered the dress either called off her wedding or bought a different dress.  It had already been altered, so it was about a size 2 street size, which is my friend's size.  If you can find a dress like that, you're in much better shape financially; they are more desperate to get rid of it, so they'll negotiate the price more.

And please, don't stop hating the bridal industry just for me haha!
