Yellow sapphires will look very good, don't worry. In fact, diamonds might even turn out to be overly brilliant, and finding 4 matched yellows in that shape is really hard. You can even choose the right shade of sapphires that would best complement the stone; a warmer orangy yellow, or more fresh greenish yellow. mr. ma re

That is a very cool stone, and it is lucky to have a mom that loves it for exactly what it is. I like your setting idea too; maybe there's another yellow stone that you could use? Yellow tourmaline marquises? I also prefer it with just one diamond on the side; why detract from your MASSIVE pink and yellow octagonal step cut!

Although you could have it on a side and have yellow sapphires on that side, and pink on the other (just a thought). mr. ma re
