FI and I are looking for a destination wedding spot and our sights have recently been drawn to the Galapagos Islands. Has anyone ever been there or known someone who went? I have been reading reviews from Tripadvisor and the like, but I would love to hear for some PSers.

Katamari - I'm from Ecuador! You're going to loveeeeee it!!! Just a little advice though, a lot of americans get sick (tummy issues) & that's just because of the different bacateria. You must also visit the capital (Quito), it's so beautiful and the food is delicious. Also, your money will go a longgggg way. Everything is inexpensive. You can go to a five star restaurant with a group 4 and pay $80-100. I love it so much, I got all excited everytime I talk about it.. hehe.. What time of the year do you plan on going?

Thanks, Thomperchick! I will be very excited to pick your brain if we do end up going here (it is the clear frontrunner right now). We were looking at flying in to Quito and visiting a couple days before boating over to the islands. The cost is definitely something that attracted us, as are the beauty and history. Glad to hear that it is as awesome as we think it is!
