hello everyone, i need a bit of help with the setting for my diamond. I had a custom design that i worked on for a while and in the end before commiting to anything i decided to show my GF the desing. she didnt love it although she liked it. i was pretty sad but like to get her something she loves. and she really loves this new tacori style ring. I cant afford tacori so i please dont suggest go with tacori. i would love to but i just cant.

Please find me a casting company that carries this so that any jeweler i am working with can get it from them to set in the stones i want.

thanks

Why dont you take the picture to a jeweler who does custom work? That would be the best route, I wouldnt presume that too many companys will just give you their mold? I could be wrong..

hey, the jewelers i have been talkin to have been just ordering from casters. so its not their own design. i saw the same ring in multiple dealers. i know a casting company must have it already. i cannot afford a complete custom route for this ring. there is lot of diamonds and this is the perfect excuse to charge alot more than i think its worth. i believe there is almost 1 carats not including center. since i want E/F ideal cut stones i can hopefully stay in my budget

Hi Anchangel,

I have seen the very similar ring setting of yours in my local jeweler (I live in the Southern California).  The setting is shorter than your picture.  With the wedding band along, the 18 karat white gold sets runs up to about $1,200, and the price is negotiable.

P.S.  My local jeweler carries both half way pave and the eternity pave settings.

I don't understand the whole casting thing, so I won't even try to answer that question.  But if you want a ring in the style of the one you posted, why not just go with that setting from that vendor?  The price seems to be fair for what you are getting.  Unfortunately you would only have 7 days to make a return if the ring turns out not to be what you wanted, but you might want to give it a try.

ETA: I am curious as to how you will get the ring made even if you were able to find the casting?  Is it common for a jeweler to take a casting from a customer and make a ring from that?  Seems to me there would be a licensing/intellectual property issue there by allowing someone to just walk in with a casting and request a ring to be made from that.  I always assumed that a casting/mounting company like for example Stuller would have dealers who are authorized to order mountings and/or castings from their inventory.

hi, let me clarify. i am trying to know which company makes this casting so when i go talk to a jeweler i TRUST i can tell him where to get it from. my plan is not to get it myself and bring it in. the reason why im trying to do this way is that im not sure my "trust" jeweler knows where to get this one from. I need to set in Ideal cut diamonds and this is the part where i dont trust jewelers. i would like the person i have in mind set the stones as well as the stones i want.

as far as casting goes i think how it works is that there are casting companies that already have models they run off from their catalogs. leo ingwer, anwar come to mind. these companies have catalogs that they give to stores to order from. you can either purchase the setting raw unpolished or set with pave stones. i would like to just get the casting done in platinum and have my jeweler set the diamonds in it so i have have some trust in the diamonds that are in there.

i have seen many many jewelers carry the same design but when i ask them what company they got the casting from they are hesitant to give it to me. one person's answer was ohh its this company from India. yaaaa rightt.. these things really make me not trust anyone i meet out there. my jeweler is someone respected on this forum and i have asked him to find me this setting also. but i think he is going more towards the route of getting a new wax or cad made. but since this is a pretty routine setting and i already know casting are there, i figured the cheapest way would be to have the casting brought in by him and then he sets my ideal cut diamonds.

Okay, what you're saying makes sense now.  Sometimes it takes me a while to *get* it!  Hopefully you'll find what you are looking for with the casting.

Hi Archangel,

I am not quite sure if I can post the jeweler name here, so I am giving you this link
http://www.whitepages.com/search/ReversePhone?full_phone=16268102805&localtime=survey .  Try to choose for the already made settings, this jeweler gives lower price on those already made settings.  According to the female owner, she charges the older setting with the back then metal price.  Good luck, and let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.
