Since our wedding colors are green we thought it would be cool to have potted bamboo plants like in the picture most likely surrounded by tea lights (real or fake, we don't know yet) what do you guys think, too simple? also since it is bad luck to buy your own bamboo we'll just let any of the guests that want to take one of the little plants home do that ok that is all :)

I'm obviously biased because I have two bamboo plants myself, but I think the idea is awesome. It's simple, but modern, pretty and meaningful. I love that guests can take them home if they want to; I know I would

Thanks guys! I also like the idea because it will be easy to put together and since I am planning long distance simplicity is always welcomed :) Plus FI loves the idea! It's not girly which is a big plus with him haha

Hey Smurfy! One of my friends did this, but then also used the bamboo as her favors by tying a little card to it with their names and the date. She used small pebbles and votive vases of different sizes to plant the bamboo in. Then she arranged them as on the tables with candles and simple white hydrangea. This way, they were both centerpieces and favors. I am not sure I am doing it justice in my description, but it was beautiful and elegant (not to mention cost effective and efficient!).

I sent out a facebook call to see if anyone has any. I will let you know what I get. I e-mailed my friend, but she is working in Honduras right now with the WHO. She has some wedding pics on her laptop, she said, but none of the centerpieces. I will see what I wrangle up, though.

I would just make sure it flows with the rest of your wedding...bamboo is very modern, and it should blend with the rest of your wedding to have the maxium effect possible.
