For all the S. Florida brides, if you're looking for wholesale flowers for any pre-wedding festivities (e.g. RD, Bridal Shower etc), there's a open to public wholesale florist/floral supply in Miami. The flowers are very reasonable, and they sell all sorts of vases, ribbons, artificial flowers, topiaries etc. It's called Berkley Florist Supply. 22" tall cylinder vases are like $11, they have floralytes starting at $2.75 or less, if you buy larger quantities.

For other decor items, check out Old Time Pottery in Broward, on Commercial & 441. It's like a Michael's meets Costco. Lots of artificial florals, baskets, vases, plates, gardening stuff. You name it. I got 18" glass pedestals for centerpieces for $6.99 each. And crystal cut tea light holders for $0.70. Pretty nice stuff.

PSA = Public Service Announcement

Also I figured I'll attach some pics of the centerpiece my mom put together this weekend. I didn't take out all the candle holders, just one, but you get an idea. Here's the tea light holder.

Yikes! Sorry about the big picture. Reposting it smaller.

Here's the arrangement my mom did and the pedestals we got. She was trying to get an idea of what she'll be doing. She's pretty sure she could bang these out with the help of all my aunts and cousins.

Lliang,

Thanks for the recommendation. I will check that out when I am home this weekend.

Sorry to thread-jack, but just curious where in Florida you were getting married. Also, did you get your dj, officiant, and photgrapher yet, or do you have any recommendations or warnings?

Thanks

DCGator,

My wedding will be in WPB, at a country club called Breakers West. It's not the Breakers hotel on Palm Beach, but the gated community they also own that's in WPB. The wedding is 10/24/09.

Re: photographers I found 2 that I really liked. One's from Broward and one's from AZ and are traveling in. You can check out them both out, I'll give you their blogs:

Local: Stephanie Sokol
AZ: Sierra Blanco

RE: Officiant, I'm using my dad's priest. He's in PB.

I haven't started the DJ yet. I got the officiant, flowers, and photog figured out this weekend.
