Poorly cut unless you *like* shield shaped pears. A good pear should be rounded at the round end, not flattened.

I know my original engagement ring is a fat little rounded , juicy looking pear..it's sooooooooo purty. BUT..for a large stone, with major bling effect...I think it's a great looking ring!! I would prefer a more rounded, well proportioned pear too..you're right!! BUT..the price is good, and if someone bought it for me, I'd certainly wear it!!

It is quite a bit of bling for the dollar!  Do pear stones generally show that much color?  It looks a bit more yellow than a K. . .

Pears do show quite a bit of color IMO. But I wasn't sure that one was a true K either....don't think it says who it was graded by.

Hi beau13,

It's a pretty ring but be aware that it most likely is not a K color as described. My thought is that it looks more like an N or O color from the photos and it would be a good idea to get it appraised if you decide to get it. If I'm not mistaken, a Pscoper recently bought a necklace from this seller for which the stone did not appraise the same as stated. Be sure you can return it within a reasonable time frame if you choose to get it. I have purchased from this seller before too and returned one of the items because the main stone was not as described (much lower color and clarity than as stated).

When I first looked at it, I thought it was a pale yellow diamond.

Interesting "hand" here. either it's photoshopped or they just happen to have a mannnequin hand just for these occasions lol (as you do) :)

Make sure it's also not clarity enhanced.  They are selling larger stones these days for much lower prices due to clarity enhancements, which greatly reduce the value.  If it's not clarity enhanced, I think it's still a great buy for a three carat cape color diamond.  It might even look more attractive in yellow gold to bring out the yellowness, or white gold halo with a yellow gold bezel.

I like you ring better! That pear needs a meal.

Dover's color grading is usually off several shades, so I would guess much warmer than a K colored stone. The shape of the pear is not my cup of tea either, but I would also wear it if someone gave it to me as a gift :)

Hi Beau13,  I will also have to agree with all the comments on the ring.  I will also say that I completely agree with Aprilbaby on your wedding set.  I love it much much better than that 3ct pear.

Agreed, no way thats a K.
But.....if it is not clarity enhanced, and you are OK with the color, only one word comes to mind........

RECUT!!!

Shave a little weight off that puppy and there is probably one fine looking pear to be found in there.

I actually like the cut. I wouldn't call it a pear, perhaps, but the elongated shape and shield like bottom appeal to me.

I would call that a light yellow, fancy shape stone. Since I am not an appraiser or a seller, I can be creative in descriptions!
