Anyone else addicted to online ring shopping?!

I can't seem to get enough of it!  It is so distracting!  I honestly don't know why I bother though b/c he doesn't want me to be involved in the ring process...he'd rather it be a complete surprise!

I just can't help it though...so addicting.  Can anyone relate?

I was for a while, I looked online all the time and kept dreaming up different styles, etc. But once we started shopping together I stopped for a few reasons. One, we found a style (oval solitaire) that we both really loved and I didn't want to fall in love with something else after we'd already decided on that style.

Second, he also wants the ring and proposal to be at least a bit of a surprise and I wanted to make sure he had that moment. If I had a specific ring in my head and he proposed with something totally different I didn't want to be disappointed/upset.

Irisheyes--

You make a great point!  That is my fear, that I'll find something online and fall in love and he'll get something in a completely different style.  I really don't want to be disappointed with the ring but I'm sure when he proposes...the ring won't even matter, I'll just be so excited and happy!

I've sent him some pictures for inspiration and I really should just leave it at that!  He knows me well enough that I'm sure he'll pick something perfect.

I've been "shopping" for a long time now. He knows and I don;t want tp be pushy but I get so excited and I want to give him ideas.
It's kinda frustrating but I know he will pick out something I love!

Oh! I feel your pain! I, too, am addicted... but I seem to change focus. I'll be all about rings one moment - and then all about gowns - then all about flowers, and so on and so forth... BF has tried to take away my PS - told me that diamond porn is still a vice! I told him that if this is my worst vice he should consider himself a lucky man!!! Anyway - eventually you will find yourself just browsing - occasionally you will lust after someone else's ring bling, but you'll know that once he gets down on a knee and asks you that one question, no one's ring will compare to the one that your beloved gave you.

Do not dismiss the rough... for it is where the most beautiful diamonds are found.

i do it all the time. i look at different styles. somtimes i intentionally look for something i like better than the one i am gonna get. havent had that happen. i still love the original. i do still look alot for something completely opposite of "the one" for my 5 year upgrade. tell me that isnt silly. i am planning my upgrade/another ring before i even get the first one!! thats an addiction.

i did too - i think we all go through that time where we look at rings becuase of the excitement of 'getting engaged'. then time (and more time!) sets in and we stop looking at rings as much...

its like a roller coaster!

I've looked a couple of times (as far as trying rings on) but I try to distance myself from that because I know an engagement isn't happening just yet. But its so much fun to look though isn't it!? I don't see anything wrong with looking if that's what you like to do!
