I'm looking to buy a birthday gift in the next week or so. I'd like to get a sterling silver bracelet but I can't find any that seem to fit the price range. I saw a few things I liked a Blue Nile, but I'd like some other options as well. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Have you checked etsy.com? There are some fine craftspeople there (but you have to slog through a lot of chaff). I liked these: http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=sr_gallery_16&listing_id=15426291 ![]() ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

I'm a sterling bracelet fiend myself!! Are you looking for a bangle or one that is a little more moveable? This sounds a little weird, but if you're looking for a plain sterling chain like bracelet, you mind find a jeweler that sells Pandora bracelets. Without charms, they're a nice little plain piece and run I think $35-40 (though I got a free one at a trunk show). James Avery is a great place for sterling silver, too, though most pieces do have a religious theme. What were the bracelets that you liked at BN? That might give us a better idea of what style you like :)

That might give us a better idea of what style you like :) She liked this for a friend's birthday, but we ended up getting something else. She's pretty anti-Tiffany as I think it represents a friend of hers she no longer gets along with. So the bracelets on BN that are "Tiffany" like she dislikes. On a side note, I'm also considering getting her an iPod shuffle, but it's a matter of figuring out if she already has one...it's not one of those things that comes up often in conversation! ETA: Generally I find people pick gifts they like themselves or wouldn't mind getting, so I wonder if this is her style, but would it be strange to get something we were going to get for someone else?!? ![]() ![]()

I think a nice bangle would work but also a nice moveable one as well. She used to make cold wire wrap jewelry so I'm trying to avoid stuff she can make since I don't want her to feel like she got something she can make herself!

Snuggles - ack, I completely forgot about this thread. Are you still working on your purchase? I love the "pretzel" (love knot?) one - but I believe it's really similar to a tiffany design - don't know if she'd recognize it or not. I like the wheat link one you posted a lot!! Here's one that I like for $50 at JamesAvery.com - http://secure.jamesavery.com/jewelry/search/product/B-383M/Light-Twisted-Wire-Bangle-Bracelet/ And here's one that reminds me a lot of my mobius bracelet from Amazon. It's also $50 - http://www.amazon.com/Sterling-Silver-Sculpted-Bangle-Bracelet/dp/B000FLYMI0/ref=sr_1_64?ie=UTF8&s=jewelry&qid=1225050254&sr=1-64 And since I mentioned the mobius, I'll add a link, too - these tend to be religious, but I've seen them with Shakespeare quotes, too - I get so many compliments on mine, but they're typically priced a little closer to $70 but can be found closer to $50, just have to do some searching for the quote you want. Here's a link for an example: http://www.dvbny.com/05_styles/mobius.htm

Just wanted to thank everyone who responded and give you and update. So I found out someone else got her a bracelet so I decided to get her... A SHUFFLE!! Yeah! Who doesn't like an iPod! And it's so pretty...almost like jewelry! Actually I just got it today in the mail and it's a really sexy red. And it's around the same price...well I paid $50 but I figure it's ok. And it's engraved with Happy Birthday. ![]()
