---------------- Brandi: Welcome to the forum... You are going to need the following information if you want more of an in depth assessment of your diamond. Total Depth
Crown Angle
Crown Height
Pavillion Angle
Pavillion Depth
Cutlet
Table Size
Girdle Thickness
If the Diamond is AGS certed it will contain the follwing info above. Gia certed Diamonds just list Depth & Table on the certificate. See if the vendor who is selling the stone has access to Sarin Data & please list what Lab graded the diamond( Example GIA,EGL,AGS).
Browse through the tutorial a little and see what information you can gather which will help you get a basic understanding of diamond buying. It may seem a little confusing at first, but post questions and we will all be here to help you.
The most critical factor which gives a diamond it's life is the cut quality. Crown & Pav. angle combinations are major contributors to a diamonds performance. This is why it is critical to list all the measurements for the stone in question for a better assessment...

Thanks I appreciate the tips...I need all the advice as this can get so confusing. The diamond was cert by GIA and it had the following informationTotal Depth - 62.3 Crown Angle - Crown Height - Pavillion Angle Pavillion Depth Cutlet - None Table Size -56% Girdle Thickness - Medium to slightly thick, faceted measurments 6.89 -6.95 x 4.31mm Polish - very good Symmetry - very good thank
