Can anyone suggest a good appraiser to use in the Philly area (preferably in DelCo, ChesCo, PhilCo, or MontCo in PA or New Castle Co. in DE) ?

This would be for a completed ring, not a loose stone.  Thanks.

Dave Atlas has been associated with this place, and deserves a chance for your query.

If you have any requirements (use of either reflector or any form of evaluative approach or technology)...I'd ask about their expected use, rather than assuming its use.

But they've earned a positive reputation here, I believe.

Dave seems to have parted ways, however.  You could double check with him first, but I think his work tends to be a bit different now.

Ditto Ira concerning Dave Atlas, here is his website.  http://www.datlas.com/

Dave has an excellent reputation and is also a great guy, so if he is within your area you could contact him.

I am still "around".  Chris DiCamillo is holding down the position of owner and operator at my old center city Philly lab, AGA.  The link to the appraiser's list will be helpful to you.

I've worked with Chris DiCamillo at Gem Appraisers. Great service! When Chris was out Chris set it up so Mike Jordan helped me get stuff done in his absence. Since we weren't from Philly (and were out there on vacation...I know, I know, I really made the excuse to go finish my ring appraisal in person) he also gave us some great tips on what to see around town!

ETA: And I want to say the people in Philly are like New Yorkers but incredibly friendly.

Thank you Dave and to the other responders.

I hadn't realized AGA would appraise a completed ring; I thought they just did looses stones.

I will contact them when I get the completed ring, probably about 4 weeks.

Thanks again.
