I've been thinking about maybe finding/creating a wedding band that includes some color, and I've heard that sapphires are strong enough for everyday wear.  So I was thinking some kind of eternity band style WB, which includes both diamonds and some pale colored sapphires.  I'm thinking maybe diamond plus very pale green and pink stones...?

I would like it to be really subtle/pale colors (i.e. not the traditional deep blue sapphire), and I'd like for there to be at least two colors besides the diamond.  Maybe something like this, but with some of the diamonds replaced with colored sapphires?

Is this crazy?  Has anyone seen anything like this before that they could show me pictures of?  I'm sort of at the beginning of the idea and am looking for inspiration images, previous threads with ideas, quality vendors to consider, etc.  Total colored stone newbie, so any help would be appreciated!  Thanks!!

Or maybe something kind of like this (except not yellow gold).  The pale pink rosecut sapphires alternating with diamonds are lovely:

I'm getting this Beverly K band as my wedding ring, with alternating diamond and pink sapphire. Personally I prefer the darker pink color but BK uses 4 different shades so you can do it with pale pink stones as well. They also have other bands with sapphires as well, and as far as vendors go, it doesn't get any better than Pearlman's.

Check out the Natural Sapphire Company. They'll do whatever color stones you want in whatever metal you want.

Thanks guys for the ideas!  I especially like the idea of being able to chose less common colored sapphires, a la the Natural Sapphire Co., but I can't get a feel for how those rings would actually look on.  I wish they had handshots (I didn't see too many when I searched PS either).  I want to make sure they look delicate and stackable on the hand...

I love some of the Single Stone band styles, and am wondering if they might use unusal/pale colored sapphires in some of their custom work.  I will have to ask...

I also looked at some really pretty ones by a designer called Doris Spanos today at Neiman Marcus.  I would have to go with pink or blue sapphires (those are her only options) but they looked pretty on.  http://www.dorispanos.com/collections/stackrings.html

Thanks again and I'd love any other ideas!

Just an update for anyone else who might be interested in the cool, off-center, bezel NSC bands shown at that link.  I was trying to figure out the scale, which will unfornately be a little too big for the very delicate, stackable look I am going for, but in case anyone is interested, I'm told they are 3.7mm wide and 2.6mm high.  And yes, they can customize sapphire colors (e.g. different shades of pink in the same band).  Hope this helps!

Also, here's another fun multi-colored pastel sapphire band I found by Cathy Waterman:

I think I might ultimately go with a custom design by Singlestone...still working it out though.

They can also do different widths, if you ask. :)

geckodani, I didn't think to ask about custom size but that's a good idea!  I asked if it was a 2mm-ish stackable size, and those were the dimensions they gave me.

sandiegolady, thanks for that info about erica grace.  Those rose cut stones are exquisite!  Again, I am unsure whether it would be too big for what I'm looking for right now.  But I could definitely see getting one of those down the road...
