I thought I would finally post the pics that I have of my wedding dress. I purchased it about 2 months ago and now I am just waiting for it to come in! Please excuse the terrible pics - these were taken the first time I tried it on (it was actually the first dress I ever tried on) and I wasn't really posing cute or anything b/c at the time I couldn't believe that this would be the "one." (I tried on more gowns after this one, then went to a different salon and I kept coming back to this one) I lost about 18 lbs since the pic was taken and I cropped my face out of the first one b/c I look weird. Also, the veil that I purchased is much different ( I forgot to take pics - I will take some when I have my fittings). Its fingertip length (I think) and double layer with the bottom layer lined in satin. Its very clean and chic. I ordered the gown with a longer train (it comes as chapel length). I had 24'' of fabric added. I used to love long trains and big bustles but lately I have been thinking maybe that was a bad idea. I will have the seamstress take off the extra fabric if it looks bad when the gown comes in. Anyway, its made my Romona Keveza and the fabric is natural silk. I purchased it at Harriet Kassman in Washington, DC. ( I highly recommend it there- small salon, personal attention, VERY knowledgeable staff, wonderful experience)

What a beautiful, figure-flattering dress! It looks very pretty. I think the veil you described will look lovely and elegant.

I really like it a lot - the wrapping around the bodice and the sweetheart neckline..where on earth did you come up with 18 lbs to lose??

I love that dress. It looks fabulous on you. I really, really love that veil and the way it cascades. Are you going to wear that veil too? ETA: Never mind...I just read the whole post about the veil Either way, the dress is stunning.

Laura, is the veil you have on in the photos a waterfall veil? I'm interested in that type, but have yet to see it actually on someone. I'd love to see photos of your new veil as well. Oh! And I love your dress, especially the back!

Thank you everyone for your kind responses. I am very simple in my style so the dress is perfect for me. Marchswallowbird - I think it is a waterfall veil. It sorta cascaded down and eventually ended in a point at the bottom. I did like it, but didn't love it - a little too complicated for my gown perhaps? * March 14, 2009 * |

Date: 10/7/2008 11:20:56 PM LauraBabe08 - Beautiful dress, I love the back of it. If you like the look of the long train, it can't hurt to buy it with the extra fabric like you did. It's easier to take off than to add!Author:LauraBabe08 I thought I would finally post the pics that I have of my wedding dress. Your dress is so pretty! I love how it is flat across the front but then you have a little volume and drama in the back with the pleats.

Love your dress! It's so classic and elegant. I love the veil too..I've never seen one like that. Would that be the kind of veil you'd want as well?
