Hi there!  I'm starting to think seriously about buying new studs with jackets.  I'm trying to decide between bezel and 4-prong settings.  I'd love to hear your feedback on your earrings!  Here are some questions, if anyone would like to share...

* Deciding between 4-prong and bezel earrings: What do you have and why do you love them?

* Does anyone out there have bezel settings with milgrain on the bezel?  If so, can you share pics?

* Does anyone out there have bezel earrings that you wear with halo earring jackets?  If so, can you share pics?

Thank you all SO much!

I'm afraid I don't own either, but I think that both are great!  If you are getting somewhat smaller stones less than .50 each I think that bezels are fantastic in making them look quite a bit bigger.  I love the idea of a thin milgrain edge as long as the bezel is thin and delicate.  Four prong styles are great and classic, but personally I actually prefer 3-prong martini styles a little better.  They are more delicate looking, highlight the stone better, and make the stone look round rather than square.

kcoursolle, Thanks for the reply!  With my budget, I was thinking about ~0.35 carat each, so the very delicate bezels with milgrain were to make the studs look a tad bigger.  :)

Does anyone think that Whiteflash might have pictures of their halo jackets with bezel earrings that they might e-mail to me?

I don't know if this is the sort of picture you are looking for?  These are my halo studs.  Let me know if you want more details, I am not sure of their specifications actually, but I do have ear photos and can give you dimensions.

Let me know if you find these b/c milgrained bezels are my dream pair They seem to be uncommon though. Widget (old PSer) has a DREAM antique pair. They will make your heart stop. I personally like bezel halos as well so for me it would be perfect with a jacket.

My studs (.41 per stone) are set in basket settings and I love them!  Bezels would have made them look bigger, but at the time, I thought there would be too much metal for my liking.  As they're set now, even with the baskets, quite a bit of metal is showing and possibly martini settings would have been the best.

I do think that bezels look better with the jackets than 4-prong do, so if I had intended to buy jackets, I'd have gone that route instead.

I have 4 prong mounted studs .36 ct each and enjoy them.  I like the bezel set studs in jackets the best.

Mishb your earrings are beautiful.  I have baskets but I love the bezels too.  I wear mine all the time so I was looking for something light weight.

Tacori, I will definitely let you know if I find them.  I'm still searching.  You mentioned that Widget had a pair.  I looked through a bunch of her old posts last night and couldn't find a picture.  Did she have a pic posted on PS?  Thank yoU!

Thank you all for your help on this.  I have been OBSESSING all this week in the evenings!  I think I've decided on the bezel SETTINGS ONLY from thediamond.com ("Perreti" style).  Of course the WF halo jackets, and I'd be such a lucky girl to get a pair of ACAs to put in those settings.

The only thing holding me up now is that I don't know what size stones to get b/c I'm having a hard time finding out what the inner diameter of the halo jackets is.    Hopefully I'll hear back from WF soon and I'll have my new earrings soon to post pics!
