I've got two stones on 24 hr hold right now. One at GOG, and one at WF. Opinions on both would be appreciated.

The budget for my center stone is $6,000. I could probably squeeze a bit more but I would like to keep it at that budget.

GOG: 1.06ct I/VS2
GOG Stone

WF: 1.15ct I/SI1
WF Stone
(hmmm, for some reason, this one shows available... they told me it was on hold)

The GOG is $200 cheaper, so they are essentially the same price. I'm leaning toward the VS2, probably because of the "mind clean" issue... but I'm sure I can be swayed

Thanks in advance

I am guessing since you ask WF to reserve for you, you have ask them to check if it is eye-clean?

Size wise I would say they are not easy to tell apart. Both are beautiful stones so going either way is ok with me. Just depends on my priorities I guess, like for you it is mind-clean or to save a few bucks, then I would go GOG. If I want a bigger stone for essentially the same Amount of $$ I would go for the WF stone. :p

Really, they both look great. If you are already questioning the "mind clean" thing though, I'd go with the VS2. The size difference is really minimal.

I would take the bigger one

Yeah, James did say that it was eye clean. I do know that in the 40X you can see the inclusions off the table, but the cloud in the table is hard to see. If I talk to him tomorrow, I will ask again, just to be sure.

The one thing against the GOG stone is the table is a bit small.
Both are rated at 1.4 on the HCA, but the WF stone is E/E/E/VG and the GOG stone is E/E/VG/VG.

That said, I would probably go for the WF stone then.

what do you mean ? both of them are 56% table.

it is always harder to find a "mind clean" stone than a eye clean stone.

The megascope report for the GOG stone shows 54.7% for the table.

I would be more incline to belive a table size of 56% as that is also the reported dimension by the Helium scan.

I'm totally a mind clean person.  That cloud on the SI1 would drive me nutso, even if I couldn't see it with my naked eyes. LOL  For that reason alone I'd pick the GOG stone.  If things like that don't bother you, then I don't think you could go wrong w/either of these diamonds.

Good luck!
