Has anyone seen a diamond with very strong fluorescence on sale?

Here is the story behind the question...

I intend to get a fluorescent stone (my end-of-year treat), as I do number among those clients who think fluorescenec is a fun fact. So, until recently, somewhere on my shopping list was a white sapphire (about 3ct, yellowish white, somewhat like a radiant cut but not quite) with very strong blue flourescence: the thing had a blue simmer to it, almost like a transparent moonstone, even under the sun! In alternative lighting conditions (such as candle ligth) it looked like a mainstream white-ish sapphire (about the color of a P-Q diamond). To my dismay, after tempting me big time, the jeweler said that the stone is 'on hold' and that he thought about the very strong flurescence as a flaw, so did not cary any other such problematic stones. That piece did look way unusual, I was not able to locate a simmilar one. Would you hapen to have/seen a stone with very strong fluorescence? It seems to me that asking for this is quite unusual and most sellers do not willingly stock them...

Not too many sapphires or colored gem sellers even identify fluorescence for the smaller pieces in their stock, the above mentioned got lucky. But diamonds get routinely graded for fluorescence (unless I am wrong here) so this is why I thought I'd ask for an alternative. I guess that even a so-so diamond would be more expensive per carat than the sapphire above (which was not all that cheap), but I would love to consider the opportunity if such an item crosses my way.

Valeria,

I have seen a few diamonds for sale with that characteristic. If you do a search on any of the online vendors you should see some stones with fluorescence. I have noticed that they seem to be cheaper then comparable diamonds without that characteristic. In fact my e-ring is an E VVS1 diamond with a strong blue fluorescence. I love it! It doesn't look hazy, milky or oily in the sunlight - just more of the blue rays show up. My friend also likes the "look" and her ring has some blue fluoresnce as well.

I hope this helps!
