Give us something more difficult!!!I'll give it a try. I think it's Victorian. The letters in the word (regards) were also the type of stones used - ruby, emerald, diamond, amethyst, ruby, garnet(?), sapphire. I believe there are other popular words that were used as well. I love old jewelery and this is fun! Give us another!

Princess cuts were created in the 1960's. What's even funnier about this scene is that the ring in question is a Tacori! A princess center with sapphire side stones. They advertise it in their catalog as the "Monica". _____________________________ |

Date: 9/26/2008 12:08:10 AM The invisible setting technique was developed in France more than two centuries ago. Grooves in each stone's girdle slip into a metal framework below the surface, but the metal cannot be seen, so stones sit side-by-side, creating a solid surface of gems...so you know i borrowed this explanation from about.com for ease of explination....but it leads to my next quiz question...what famous jewelry company is famous for using the invisible look in their floral jewelry.....

Vulcanite? I give up. This subject creeps me out. Btw, doesn't the rolling ring pre-date Cartier? It was a traditional Russian wedding band. "The greatest experts are only as good as the sum total of what they have seen." (Souren Melikian) |
