Greetings: I am a non-professional culinary arts enthusiast based in Arlington, VA. I will be vacationing in Kauai from October 20th to 28th, 2003. I have scoured the Internet unsuccessfully trying to locate some regional Hawaiian cooking classes to attend during my visit. Do you, or do you know of any chefs, hotels or restaurants that would likely be providing hands-on or instructional classes during that time? Also, I would be delighted to travel to a local farmers market, do prep, purchase all ingredients, etc. in exchange for a demonstration as well (home cooking enthusiasts welcome). I have a public access television cooking show that I'd like to air some clips on upon my return to the mainland. All suggestions and "shots in the dark" are welcome. Thanks in advance for your help. Regards, Bert Dickerson |

Hi there, I would suggest emailing the travel/food person at your local paper. They might have some info. Also the New York Times, Bon Appetite and Gourmet often have listings for classes in different places. Maybe if you call/write to them as well? Good luck! Babs |
