This is what we're looking at & have on hold.  My boyfriend has been working with Sarah from GOG & he has been really pleased.  He says she's sent him other options, but he doesn't want me to see them yet since the others are better in color, but higher in price. I've never seen an 'I' in person, so I worry a little when I read most posters state 'H' as their limit.  Maytal Hannah will be making the setting & uses F-G for melee.  The setting will be similar to the Daniel K rosebud, so the pave diamonds will be small, but that's a lot of F-G next to a center 'I'!  I assume this stone must be stunning, but I want to consult the experts!  Thanks in advance!

As for the color, I have a 1.73 SI1 J that I purchased from Good Old Gold. It s set with 10 pointers in the band that are all F-G and there is no discernable difference, at least that I can see!!!

That's a gorgeous stone!

As for the color, you need to see some very well cut stones in that size, like Hearts on Fire/AGS0. See how color sensitive you are, or aren't. Look at them in natural lighting, away from the jewelers lights, which hide lots of things. See what you think, that's the only way to know for sure. And that melee would be fine with it.

-Murray N. Rothbard, in The Anatomy of the State

John Swinton [1829-1901] Chief Editorial Writer of the New York Times (Considered "the Dean of his Profession" by his peers), when asked to toast an 'Independent Press' in a gathering at the National Press Club, circa 1880

"There is no such thing in America as an independent press unless it is in the country towns. You know it, and I know it. There is not one of you who dare express an honest opinion. If you express it you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid... for keeping my honest opinions out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for doing similar things....

The business of the New York journalist is to distort the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon, and sell his country and race for his daily bread, or for what is about the same thing, his salary. You know this, and I know it and what foolery to be toasting an 'independent press.' We are tools, and the vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are jumping-jacks. They pull the strings and we dance. Our time, our talents, our lives, our possibilities, all are the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes."

It is a gorgeous stone and I agree w/Ms Ellen, that you should see how color sensitive you are.  You should be safe w/an I though.

I never saw any color in my I diamond until I put it next to one of those cheapie cz ones in a department store. And the difference was VERY slight. Even better, I LIKED the tint I saw. Just had a prettier glow to it in my opinion. But usually, it faces up very white!

My I princess looks great alongside my F/G surprise diamonds. You shouldn't notice a difference, especially in a beautifully cut round stone like that one.

Thanks, everyone!  I'm considering having GOG ship the stone to us if we move forward with the purchase, just so we can check it out ourselves.  Then, I won't just see 'I' diamonds, I can see my 'I' diamond.  In the meantime, I'll do a little more searching for people with slightly warmer stones.

Hi love sparkles, here is a thread with pics of my K from GOG http://www.pricescope.com/idealbb/view.asp?topicID=89827&pageNo=2
- I agree with the others, most likely you will be very happy with that I, and sounds like a lovely ring that you're getting, Maytal does gorgeous work!
