Hi Girls
I am getting married on Oct. 10th (can't believe- less than a month) - Anyway, I wanted to see what some of you are wearing or think you might wear for your rehearsal dinner. The past few weddings I've seen the brides wear a cute white dress - is that the norm? Also, I just can't seem to find any cute white dresses...any suggestions. Nordstroms does have some adorable dresses but they are colored --- Any suggestions or pics????

What about this one? I think it's adorable...from Nordstoms.
Also have you thought about instead of wearing white you wear a dress inspired from your wedding colors?

that is cute! Do you think it is a little too "Summer"? Since we're getting married in Oct - I don't know if that makes a difference
I did find a cute apple red dress (that is the color of our BM dresses)

I was thinking that it had a very summer look to it...with the flower at the top. But then I thought...Hell your the bride wear whatever you want!

I do love the thought of the apple color dress...Do you have a picture?

Actually I did just check on Nordstroms and there are some cute dresses----

For some reason I can't copy and paste this picture-- here is the link http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2985163/0~2376788~6002242~6007533~6007554?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=6007554&P=2

I have seen brides wear white dresses, or colored dresses. My personal preference is to wear something other than white because I feel like some brides have settled on a mediocre dress just because they wanted something white, instead of getting something with color.

Unless you find the perfect white dress, go with something that looks fabulous on you. I really liked AMS's idea of wearing something with the colors of your wedding. My vote is for the apple red dress.

Can we see pictures ?

I did a search for you: Red Dresses, Women's Apparel...
Here's the link
http://shop.nordstrom.com/SR?KeyWord=Red+dresses&CatID=6000008%7cWomen%27s+Apparel&searchorigin=KeywordSearch

Hopefully that helps...

FYI: I ordered 2 dresses from Nordstroms on Tuesday...Standard Shipping...I got them today!!! Great service

hey- thanks! for some reason I can't figure out how to post pictures. I idid find a few cute dresses that I like at Nordstrom- and they are really reasonable! I am fair so don't LOVE myself in white...plus if I get a colored dress I can wear it again to one of the many weddings I go to every summer!

I'm wearing a Tadashi cocktail dress in a deep peacock blue (one of our wedding colors).

Handbags always fit!

Hmmm, hope this doesn't post twice.  My first post disappeared.  Anyway, I have only been to three rehearsal dinners in my lifetime but none of those brides wore white.  I am not attempting to wear white because I'm very fair, I don't look good in it, and it was hard enough finding a white wedding dress that didn't make me look pasty!  I say buy a dress you love, whatever color it turns out to be.

Mmm... I love Tadashi.

I would wear a colour, personally, but I look lousy in white. I have a short black dress with coloured embroidery that I will wear unless my budget suddenly expands in the next year to allow the buying of clothing. And it probably won't, because there are several things on the list above new rehearsal dinner dress, unfortunately.

Fortunately, one of those things is great wedding shoes...

My rehersal dinner is pretty casual - we are getting deep dish pizza :)   My wedding is in the fall, obviously, and it has a nice autumy feel

So I am wearing this:

Very cute, julesbeth! My rehearsal dinner is an informal barbeque in FI's backyard, so I will be either wearing jeans or a sundress. I have a year to figure it out!

Probably jeans. Our wedding is Oct 25, and we will be having BBQ in a pavilion or something similar for dinner. FI wanted something more low key.

I'm wearing that exact dress to my rehearsal dinner... it's actually not white white... it's more of a cream/ivory color... it looks much whiter in that photo... the style isn't as wedding-y in person either so I think it will work pretty well.

I am all for the white/ivory rehearsal dinner dress!  Mine is actually a short wedding dress with lace and beading by Pronovias... the exact opposite of my actual wedding dress which is simple and elegant...  Our RD is on the more formal side so I think it works.  I don't really buy into the "it's all about you" wedding hype - but I do think as the bride you have creative license to wear whatever makes you feel beautiful.  Good luck... let us know what you choose.

Wow, Sanchez, that dress is amazing! If I thought I had a chance in heck of looking decent in it, I would be bright green right now.

THANKS ladies!!  The beauty of ebay.

I think red is an excellent choice... always a show stopping color and it's great that it goes with your wedding colors.
