Just wanted to give a two thumbs up endorsement for JamesAllen.com and specifically Jim himself for the outstanding service and diamond ring that I bought from them. Not only was Jim great to communicate with via phone and email, but he actually saved me a lot of money in the process. To make a long story short, I contacted JamesAllen to see if there was any way I could trade-in a 3.05 carat F/VS1 princess cut diamond ring I bought from BlueNile a little over 2 years ago. Not only did Jim say they could take it in on a trade, but they gave me 42k of trade-in value. I originally bought the ring for about 38,500 so I profited 3500. Not bad considering I tried selling it for a couple months and couldn't get any serious offers more than 36k cash for it. I told Jim I would take the trade if he could get his hands on a diamond that I saw listed in a competitor's site database. The diamond was a 3.69 G/VS2 princess cut that was being listed for a little over 56k(bank wire price). Jim told me to give him a day and he would get back to me to see if he could get it. Sure enough, he emailed me the next day and said he could get it shipped to his NYC office and he could fedex it to me for inspection. I told him I wanted him to compare that stone to a 3.63 F/VS2 princess cut that was in his site's database to see if the "F" color was really worth the extra 11k that I would have to pay for the "F"color stone. Jim said that the "F" stone was already physically in New York City so he would compare the two side by side in his office when the "G" arrived from the west coast. Jim then called me a few days later and told me that his people and him both viewed both stones side by side in his company headquarters and they all agreed that the "G" was the better stone in price and, more importantly, in cut and beauty. Not only did Jim save me 11k by not trying to get me to buy a more expensive stone needlessly, but he also helped me get the pave diamond setting that my girl loved from "Diana". Jim tried to get the "Diana" ring, but that setting had prongs that could only hold a diamond of 2.5 carats or less. Jim then told me he could get a pave diamond specialist he does business with to custom make the ring EXACTLY like the "Diana" ring. He could do it for $500 less($3800 compared to the $4300 Diana sells it for)  because I wouldn't be paying for the "name". Anyway, I told Jim to go ahead and do it and to fedex the ring when complete. A couple weeks later the ring arrived and it was absolutely gorgeous.
