... Would you be so kind as to lend me a hand? We are looking for a place in south Fl. We like South Beach, but don't want to be too close. Do you have any suggestions? Bal Harbour? I'm dreaming of a little cottage.

Hi Harriet

Are you looking as in to move?

I Bal Harbor.  A good place to look into as well is Coconut Grove.  There are beautiful homes there and its close enough to the beach so that the commute isn't long but far enough that you get some privacy.  It's also near an area with a lot of shopping centers and outdoor restaurants.

If you don’t mind the beach and a laid back atmosphere Sanibel Island is lovely.

Hi there,

No, we're looking for a retreat.

Coconut Grove is a good idea. We'll look into it. Which city are you in?

My ILs used to live there. Too many bad memories!

I live in Pembroke Pines which is closer to Fort Lauderdale.

For a retreat Bal Harbor is def. great as is coconut grove and maybe even Coral Gables or Sunny Isles.

I did a search for the grove and found these.  I don't know if they're any good so I'm not giving them a stamp of approval or anything but if you are interested in any then I can drive by it and take pics.  I work nearby the Grove and Gables.

Here's a listing in the gables:

And Sunny Isles

Would you consider Key West?

You're a darling. Thanks for the listings and your offer to drive by. We're actually thinking about buying. I'm afraid Key West is too far. We usually fly into Fort Lauderdale.
P.S. I love your brother's Maltipoos.
