I have heard some great things about Boone Rings on here, and have seen some pics of men's bands. I would like to get my girlfriend a tension engagement ring, and was wondering if anyone has some pictures of the Women's Tension Rings from Boone that they would share. Thanks.

Hi Hacksaw!  I have only seen mens rings, Boone's ring are pretty cool!  Mara's dh ring is a tension setting.  let me go look for the thread.

Hey Skippy,

I did see that one before. I also emailed Bruce, and he only had one photo on hand to send me. Anyone else have some photos???

Thanks.

Sorry, no photos for you.   I do know someone who bought a men's wood-inlay ring from Boone and really loved it though.  His wife was quite a stickler for quality and even she approved.  I think FI will probably get one too.

So no pics, but at least one recommendation for the company!

No women's pictures here, but once again a plug for Bruce. He's the best, my DH's band is from him.

And just a word of caution...has your girlfriend explicitly said she likes tension set rings? They are a very particular look and often men love them and women aren't so jazzed about them (obviously this isn't always the case, but we've seen many unhappy women here with tension rings their FI's thought were "super cool"). So I would only go this route if you know it's a style she loves. Just a thought.

Dang. Still no pics.

To Neatfreak: I feel confident with what I have been looking at. She has told me that she does not want to look at rings, and wants to have no idea what kind she is getting...only that she wants it to be unique. Also, I have shown her twin sister what I have been looking at and she really liked it.(I think she likes these better than her own...her husband just went for the big rock.)

Here is the one that I am currently thinking about (except, with none of the side diamonds...she likes simple) It is a Gelin Abaci.

If her twin (who I assume she is close to) says yes, then you're probably safe! That is a very pretty ring and much less manly than many tension set rings I have seen.

Might also want to check out Sholdt rings. I don't know that they do tension, but their look is very unique and reminds me of that Abaci.

Here's a pic of the ring I just got from Bruce.  He does excellent work and I highly recommend him.  I will post another photo, the pictures don't due it justice.  I asked him to modify one of his designs and he was more than willing to do it for me.  I can't tell you how much I like what we came up with.  I will be going back for my ring.
