Hello lovely ladies! FI and I are finally settled in sunny California, and I can go back to *attempting* to plan this wedding <tired/>. To cut to the chase, I need to sort out my invitations, and I'm having a hard time. I'm looking for winter themed invites, and they're almost nowhere to be found. I found one that I really liked, but when I got the sample, the paper they used was very thin, and the whole invitation, though beautiful, was pretty fliimsy. Here it is for reference: http://www.invitationsbydawn.com/We_ViewEns.cfm?sItemCode=WedEns7366&sCatalogCode=WedEnsDD&iStartRow=1&lCriteria=244&strcontinue=yes&strsearch=yes&format=WedEnsDDa Does anyone know where I can find winter themed invites? At this point, I think it would be best for me to go somewhere locally to look at samples, so if anyone knows where to look in the San Jose area, I would be eternally greatful. The only place I've been to so far has been Paper Source, and they're pretty expensive. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bringing Brooklyn charm to California since 2008

I don't know about any place where you can see actual samples, but I found this online place using google. Link

Have you tried Yelp? http://www.yelp.com/search?find_desc=wedding+invitations&ns=1&rpp=10&find_loc=san+jose%2C+ca That's just for San Jose, try browsing for San Francisco etc. There might be 'Talk' threads and Lists you can check out that people have posted as well. There's also a 'Cards and Stationery' category. I would browse through the whole bay area not just San Jose. Welcome to the area by the way! I'm up in Mountain View!

Thanks goldenstar, and violet for your input! I did find some places on yelp, as well as a random web site. Unfortunately, we haven't visited any of the places yet . So, this weekend it's first on the list (I actually made a list), and we're going to look at invitations no matter how much FI wants to go to Costco. Bah!Thanks for the welcome, Violet, I'm really enjoying the area. I can't say that about the heat though <sweaty/>. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |

have you seen Hello Lucky's letterpress invites? They have a wide range of patterns. Also if you're willing to drive up to SF or Berkeley, you'll find many more options. Check out Gump's for custom invites, and there's a real cute custom letterpress place near the Gourmet Ghetto (right by Chez Panisse) that does nice work.
