It has been three years since I first wrote of Nicholas Culesmith, the criminal wedding photographer, and I thought it was time to bring my postings up to date. First off, let me say this: BRIDES BEWARE -----NEVER TRUST THIS MAN TO TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR WEDDING!!!!! Perhaps by now old Nicholas Culesmith has managed to quit drinking, (although I doubt it,) pay off the remainder of his tickets to the State of Washington and is on the loose again. He may have attended church long enough to operate the offering plate, thereby stealing enough money to buy a camera so he can return to his profession of RUINING young brides' wedding days by absconding with the payments. The man does not deliver. When I first wrote about him on this forum I thought we were the only family he had cheated. But slowly, over the next few years I started hearing from more and more couples --- all with the same story. They sent me copies of their contracts, monies paid, etc...some differences, but details of the arrangements were pretty much the same. I worked with the Attorney General's Office for Washington State. They asked for copies of everything and made arrangements to contact all the other parties. There were nine couples that fell victim in the Seattle area. I have since discovered that he moved to the Oregon border, so he may operate in both Washington and Oregon. Nicholas Culesmith is tall, dark hair, british accent. He was very charming - we thought we'd have lovely photos of our 300-guest wedding. ![]() Anyway - be careful, do your research & only hire a photographer that someone you KNOW has used. Culesmith was actually a vendor in the Seattle Wedding Show. Evidently the Wedding Show coordinators will let anyone have a booth & do not screen the prospective vendors. Check the Better Business Bureau --- look under the photographer's company name, his/her personal name, etc. In our case we checked only the business name...BIG MISTAKE. We lost $3,000. Some of his victims lost up to $6,000. He now owes one couple close to $10,000 with all the fines and damages levied against him in court in absentia. selein |
