Is anyone else just thrilled to pieces that their children are back in school?? I AM!! My son seems very eager (right now, lol) to do well this year. He knows he has to work very hard this year to get ahead for graduation next year. :)

NO!!!  I say BOO to the beginning of school.  Mine start the 2nd of Sept and I am totally dreading it!  DS#1 is starting high school, DS#2 is in middle school and DDis starting kindergarten.  Waaaaaaa, I don't want them to go!!!!!  Especially DD, she is my little sidekick.  We do everything together and always have so much fun.  I really have no idea how I will deal with them all being gone.  DH is no longer working from home so it's just me, the cat, and dog during the day.  boo hoo hoo.......  Can you see I'm so so crabby about this?

HA! When I read the title of this thread I thought:

ARE YOU CRAZY!!!!

I suppose I'll have a different reaction when I'm a parent and not a teacher. :)

It's funny, though, because as much as I lament the end of summer every year, it's always so exciting to see my former students and get the year started.

You are a sugar DeeJay!  I am a total wreck!  When DS#1 started K I lost 10 pounds.  I could hardly eat for weeks.  I have a feeling it will be so much worse this time around because this one is my baaaaaaby (said through tears).  That said, we COULD have so much fun!  We still need to have cocktails with our cocktail rings!!!   There is a fab new jewelery store opening up in my neighborhood.  If you're ever in So Cal...i'm guessing THE BRICK could keep my mind off of my broken heart!

I'm with you.  YES for school starting!!!!!  My youngest is in preschool but that means  2 1/2 hours of freedom 4 days a week.  I have posted before about her being autistic and 2 of my older kids being on the spectrum so having 2 1/2 hours of        QUIET    time is going to help me preserve my sanity :)

Miranda, I'm doing preschool, elementary school now, but in 2 years I will be like you with elementary, jr. high, and high school.  Its strange even now to be spanning preschool and jr. high.

You can come hang out with my daughter and me in the afternoon :)

I guess because my son has just these next two years before school is done and he graduates, I am excited at the prospect of his growing up and getting on his own. He has a lot to accomplish over the course of these years and I am kind of excited to see it happen...
