Hi,

I'm searching for a setting for my OEC.....and I've been drawn to settings with pink diamonds, such as a pink halo, or pink side stones.

Most of the halos I've seen with pink diamonds have a rose gold, or pink gold.  Why is that?  Is it to accent the pink stones?  And is the rose gold more costly than white gold normally?

Does anyone have a halo with pink diamonds, but the halo is still white gold or plat.????? if you do PLEASE post some pics for me.  Thanks!

They set them in rose gold to accent the pink diamonds. Most pink diamonds (quality can vary of course) are actually rather pale, especially in small ones like melee where the color doesn't stand out a lot.

Rose gold is not more expensive.

I'm afraid that you'd find pink melee lost in white gold. The difference would be barely noticeable from white diamonds.

Leon Mege, Beverly K, Beaudry, and Knox jewelers Cielo all have pink diamond halo settings.

Thanks purrfect......I kinda thought so...I was only seeing rose gold halos.  I do like them a lot!!  Now, I'm curious....since I have an old cut, will the pink halo make my oec look warmer, or do you think it will make it look whiter?  She is pretty white on her own, its a G.......so maybe I am worrying for no reason, but if anyone  has thougts on that, please do share!

Thanks Pixley!  That ring is gorgeous!

Jelly- take a look at my thread on SMTR- lookback a few posts, I did put 2 pics on from the seller, and I have been trying for 3 days to get a good pic.....no luck, they are all blurry or the oec sparkled so much that all I see is a big flash!  I'll keep trying!

Pink diamonds look pretty nice in the rose gold.  It's a preference call.  The image attached was a 7ct Fancy Light Pink that we had done in the Rose Gold for the client.  $500k in Feb of 2007, probably costs $800k for a replacement today, if not more.

It's a preference call to what you want the design to look like!

oh, I dont think a rose gold halo with pink melee is in my near future.  Leon just emailed me back and said the pink melee are significgantly more expensive .  Waahhhhh.

Just a thought---   Why not use pink sapphires? They would be at least a little cheaper right? I'd love to hear if this would look nice, as someday in the FAR future I'd love to have a pink halo myself.

Pink sapphires should be fine - blue is used as melee a lot. I LOVE this style, and want one myself.

I think in a halo, pink sapphire pave would be quite appropriate. I would still do pink gold to mediate the intensite of the stones.

I think this pink sapphire halo by Beverley K is very distinctive and would show of the oec nicely. It also helps that the BevK's are competetively priced!

Here's another way to go. This is really my style, so I apologize if it is not yours. This Jane Taylor setting is in pink gold with white gold accent stones. Again, that G colored stunner would look lovely in this. I would choose this setting hands down!!
