hi all,
after hanging out reading everything for some time, this is my first ever pricescope post.. i've recently purchased a diamond from bluenile:

0.708 carat/ G/ VVS1/ AGS Ideal cut
measurements: 5.76 x 5.79 x 3.51
crown angle: 34.5
pavillion angle: 40.8
depth: 60.6%
table: 56.1%

price: $3614

i know i could have maybe saved some money by getting a diamond with lower clarity, but this seemed like the best deal i could find. so to all of you who seem to know diamonds much more than me, do you think this is a good deal? i'm getting it appraised on monday and will decide then whether to keep it or send it back. thanks!

Welcome to Pricescope,

The proportions look great, seems like a winner!  As for the clarity, it is up to you, certainly you could have gone lower and maybe got closer to the 1 ct mark, but if you like the idea of having very high clarity then that is fine!  G VVS AGS0 is a very nice combo!

Nothing is more sacred as the bond between horse and rider...no other creature can ever become so emotionally close to a human as a horse. When a horse dies, the memory lives on because an enormous part of his owner's heart, soul, very existence dies also...but that can never be laid to rest, it is not meant to be...

sounds like a nice stone... personally I would have jumped down to a VS1 and bumped up to a E-D color.. but that's just my personal taste. Sure you could have gotten a larger diamond but I would rather sacrifice size for color/cut/clarity. Good choice overall

It's alway interesting to me to hear men say this. In my experience, unless you are with a woman who specifies that she wants the highest quality in all of the C's, women will usually prefer a larger stone (of course maintaining th integrity of the cut!) There are many women on PS with I-J rings so that they could get the size that they want... and they are HAPPY LADIES!

Assuming a well cut stone:

If given a choice between two stones, 1.0 VVS1 or 1.25 SI1 that are eye clean, women will generally take the larger one.

If given the choice between between a 1.0 D/E and a 1.25 G/H which face up white, women will generally take the larger one.

I only say this to mean that guys should make sure that they are attune to what is most important to their GF/SO. If it is color or clarity, great. But most women seem to prefer size :) (This is PS, so we all know that cut is king!)

There r many options it just depends on what you want and if your lady is color sensitive!  Good luck!
