I'm still waiting on crown/pavillion for this diamond, but from this info, what are your thoughts? It's an EGL USA cert. Carat: 3.71 Shape: Round Cut: excellent Color: I Clarity: SI1 Measurements: 9.90-9.84-6.20 Depth: 62.8% Table: 56% Polish: Excellent Symmetry: Excellent Culet: None Fluorescence: None Girdle: Medium Originally, I didn't want to go as low as I, but in pictures, including the picture under the loupe it faces up very white. I wish I could figure out how to attach the picture and Sarin, but I'm not that technologically saavy yet. (embarrassed) Anyway, your thoughts are greatly appreciated. :) |

Do you have crown and pavilion angles? Based on the depth it may be in the steep/deep range, but no way to know without more numbers and, better, an ideal-scope or ASET image. Just so you know, and it may not bother you, I’d expect a 3.50 ct round to spread about the mm size of this one so there’s a little extra weight in the depth somewhere.

Let's see what the ca/pa are. is it eyeclean? I wouldn't judge color on that stone on the monitor. Can you look at it in person or is it at another site? If they got you a sarin, can they get you an IS?

It's a tad deep for my personal preference. Ditto to getting ca and pa, and possibly an IS image?

Thanks for your input everyone! I was so busy at work today, I didn't get a chance to check back in. I'm going to see it in person next week. I will ask for an IS and post the crown/pavillion angles when I get them.

Date: 8/6/2008 11:22:40 AM Maybe this link will help? Thanks for the link Ellen. I will try to attach the pics and Sarin. In the meantime, for the crown height and pavilion depth there are two numbers next to each. It reads: Crown height: 15.09% 15.0% Pavillion depth 43.67% 43.5% Also: Crown: 34.44 degrees 34.5 degrees Pavilion: 41.15 degrees 41.2 degrees Does this information sway anyone one way or the other?

Bump. :) Do you think this stone is worth getting in to see in person?

the basic combo is likely GIA EX but AGS1(AGS0 is the top rating) or close to it. Id rate the base combo just a bit back from the best. A lot would depend on optical symmetry and the lgf% from there. Spread isn't the best. It comes down to price and how it looks in person, I wouldn't pay top dollar for it. While looking at it ask for a verification of the color and clarity against GIA standards. ........... Karl has joined the diamond trade and is now posting as Karl_K |
